Chief Justice Rehnquist has said: It is impossible to build sound constitutional doctrine upon a mistaken understanding of constitutional history, but unfortunately the Establishment Clause has been expressly freighted with Jeffersons misleading metaphor for nearly 40 years.

Aren't the Muslims given special prayer rooms at their public schools in MI? Don't they have special arrangements for fasting during Ramadan? So why can't Christians in LA pray?

Even my Moveon.org liberal uncle calls this scary. I think the ACLU is about to hurt themselves.

One more thing...I know all the Judges here in this little district. I would be very surprised if any of them would agree to incarcerating anyone.
What Joe Cook isn't counting on is, they have to be re-elected soon. They aren't going to want to jail anyone on that fact if none other.

Prison for praying in School? I'd like to call them on that and see where this goes. The ACLU has been a pain for too long.

The Tangipahoa school board and the ACLU of Louisiana entered into an agreement Why in the world would anyone do that?

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

You know I think Nancy Pelosi would call it an abuse of power for the Republicans to elect the Speaker of the House. She's a wack job and I would love to see her blink. Just once! Her face might shatter. Gotta love a later in her 50's or 60's trying to look like she's in her 20's only to seem like she's in a Frankenstein movie

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof
Thats all the First Amendment says. Nowhere can you find the wall of separation between church and state. Yet, in the name of freedom and liberty, groups like the ACLU would like to prohibit the free exercise of religion beyond a persons private thoughts. Thats okay, you can be a Christian, just dont say it out loud.
I found the "wall of separation". Article 52 Section 2 of this Constitution.

There is no reason this or any other school board should have entered into an agreement with the ACLU. If you give them an inch, they will take a mile. I guess these people are figuring that out now that the ACLU is wanting them to be put behind bars.
It is time to ignore the ACLU and any court order that forbids people who want to pray, anywhere, anytime. Any such order is unconstitutional, and therefore, should not be followed.

Take religion or prayer or invocation or whatever out of the picture. No one has ever explained to me why "prayer" isn't included in that vast domain called free speech.
