The Dems have already delivered their part of the bargain by allowing the judicial nominations to proceed. A nuke now would seriously damage the credibility of the Pubs.

...to which the president's response should be, "No Bolton, no US ambassador to the UN."

Speaking of Reid, he is in a RED State isn't he, who we got to run against him?

We'll just have to do a Dashle on him, and the American People are not STUPID enough to believe the Democrats, the Democrats are going to be down to the 25 percent Looney Crowd for their base.

OK Dusty Reid, we will leave this UN Ambassador post vacant if you do not vote on Bolton. Who really cares?? When Bush gets around to it he can recess appoint him. You and your ilk are completely unnecessary!

Just in case we need a US rep to vote for us on the UN SC, can the charge d'affairs (#2--acting ambassador) vote?

I could accept that actually, I like that idea. Take it to the mats over Bolton, he's not as "valuable" as a judge, is that your point?

He gave a recess appointment to Bill Pryor; Dubya should be more gutsy on Bolton.

Remember the operation is being run by REPUBLICAN STEERS.

I have little hope that things will be better.

Reid just won reelection, unfortunately. You can thank Rep. Gibbons for not running against him. He could have won.

Obviously Reid must not trust his ranking member on the Intel committee.

Could Bush do a recess appointment during the August recess, or does it have to be in between sessions of Congress, at the end of 2006?

Soup,

Not the pubs- the 7 Rino's. The GOP didn't agree to anything, at least, according to Frist.

That agreement was unprecedented. I've posted before, I'm unaware of any previous instance where a "Treaty" was entered into by a small group of Senators to stymie the will of the Senate. This agreement should be undercut as soon as feasible.

Given the tendency of Senators to blab sensitive national secrets on cable news channels, the President is well-justified in withholding the info.

I do not know for sure, but I assume there is an acting ambassador with voting powers there. Leave him in until he does something disagreeable. At that point recess appoint Bolton or someone "worse." I'm thinking Richard Perle.

Senate Democrats will not allow a vote on President Bush's choice for U.N. ambassador unless the White House hands over records of communications intercepts Bolton sought from the secretive National Security Agency, Minority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday.

..."so we can turn it over to the enemy, 'cause it's not fair, we're bigger than them."

IF you got the documents you're asking for, you'd lie about their content, to suit your agenda.

The House GOP should say "No Bolton No UN money".

Now there is a true nuclear option -- along with cutbacks in blue states in Federal Spending.

"The President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies that may happen during the Recess of the Senate, by granting Commissions which shall expire at the End of their next Session."

It sounds like August and Bolton would remain in the position until 06
