HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) - A 200-pound black bear charged into a home and went on a 40-minute rampage, attacking a dog and damaging a basement guest room as it tried to claw its way out. Rosie, a 3-year-old blue heeler, was treated by a veterinarian for puncture wounds, but her owners were not injured. Karla Irving said that when she let Rosie out Saturday night, she heard the dog barking and caught a glimpse of something small scurrying in the darkness. Her eyes followed a bear cub up a tree, and when she looked back down she saw more movement.

My wife saws a big black shape in our backyard at dusk a couple weeks ago.
At first she thought it was a bear, but it turned out to be the neighbor's dog.
"Candygram"
Where does a bear go on a rampage?
Anywhere he wants to.
electric fences for all? my uncle has beehives, and prowling bears. occasionally he finds a steaming pile of bear plop where a bear has tried the fence, but hasn't lost any hives.
"electric fences for all?"
Well, that or smaller dogs!
Did they have Charmin tissue?
LOL I guess I've been watching too many commercials!
I would assume that if this lady saw a bear cub racing up a tree, that the attacking bear was probably one pissed off mama bear out for the kill. I imagine once she got out of the house and found her cub, she and the cub took off for parts unknown. Nothing worse than a mama bear on a rampage.....(or any mama anything...)
