MANCHESTER, N.H. --The grandfather of a 2-year-old "mystery girl" was arraigned Thursday on charges of possessing pornographic photos of her.
Police say they were led to Richard Hawes, 63, of New Boston, by a clerk who found sexually explicit digital images on a self-serve photo kiosk at a Manchester CVS store. The clerk went to police who, desperate to identify her, released other photos of the girl on Tuesday. They said they had credible information the toddler was in danger and that her parents might not have known about it.
The girl's father, Jeffrey Hawes, of Winter Park, Fla., saw the photos Wednesday on national television and called police, according to an affidavit filed in Manchester District Court.
Jeffrey Hawes said his father had visited the family in Florida about four to six weeks ago. During a police interview, Richard Hawes said he had taken sexually explicit photos of his granddaughter with his digital camera, the affidavit said.

We have pictures of 3 different generations of my family being bathed in the same kitchen sink. I think these photos must have been different. (I don't even want to know)
Of course my neighbor has her own little girl. I told her never ever let her daughter get near him and she said "Oh, he wouldn't do it anymore"
They can find Jesus all they want. The Lord will still judge them according to His will.
Not that uncommon I've discovered from talking to some these perverts. With that in mind, I fear there are probably other children he's either molested or photographed.
I don't know. I know what you are talking about (the bath pictures and such) - but there's gotta be something more for the clerk to get suspicious about this.
This is not good. Once a pedophile...always a pedophile, Christian or not.
You're forgetting the razor blades and lemon juice! ;)
Yea I know. I was wondering why they posted her photo too and where they got her photo?
I can say without a doubt ol' gramps would be worm food after we found out if something like that ever happened to us. Demonic bastard!
I told her that too. Her stupidity is almost as bad as her father's crimes against her.
Wow. What a smart mom.
They would have to be. Most unfortunate. Stories like this make me want to buy an island.
Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.
Something about the act being so horrible that it's easier to pretend it'll never happen again than to face the monster.
Ack.
Sadly I think most "in family" molesters go unpunished and often reoffend. I know a girl whos uncle began molesting her when she was 9 years old and was raping her on a regular basis by the time she was 12. It ended when the family found out. No charges were ever filed because the family didn't want the embarrassment.
The girl never received any counselling and is now a crack addict with several children and an endless arrest record. Meanwhile the uncle goes on about his happy way without scrutiny. I tell everyone I meet to keep him away from children.
Yet another reason that I will never, ever be a Christian. I personally think the man's n@d's should be removed without anastheisa.
The photo of the child was already released nationally by the authorities in the hope that someone would recognize her and enable them to track down the abuser.
The guy looks like the Westerfield creep that killed danielle van owen (sic)
Yes, some afflictions are not curable.
Another example: my daughters boyfriend just found out that his employer is a pedophile. boyfriends mother finally told him what she knew about the guy and the kid says "MOM! Why didn't you tell me before??" Turns out he goes to her church now so she didn't think it was necessary!!
Does that mean I need to destroy the 8mm movies of my wife naked that my father in law took 65 years ago?
