MILFORD. Ohio -- A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of raping his 7-week-old baby, News 5's Bina Roy reported.
The baby girl also has a broken leg, a broken wrist and bruises on her chest, nose and legs, Roy reported.
The baby's mother, Shannon Sorah, said her husband, Joseph Warner Sorah, admitted sexually assaulting his daughter.
"He admitted to doing it when no one was around," she said.
She said he slept next to the child's crib in another room.
"He said the reason why he wanted her to sleep in there was so I could get my sleep," she said.
Shannon Sorah said her husband had beaten her and their 2-year-old son, but she never imagined he could rape the baby.
"He's had problems. He needs help. He's sick. He's sick in a perverted way," she said through tears.
The baby's uncle, James Carpenter, said he never suspected anything.
"He's never really worked a job or anything. He's just a bum, basically. I never thought he was a child molester," Carpenter said.
Sorah was arraigned Wednesday on rape and child endangering charges and is being held in the Clermont County jail on $500,000 bond. He could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted, Roy reported.
"I don't want anything to happen to him, anything bad, but he deserves it right now," his wife said.
Milford police said they discovered the crime after two women called paramedics to examine the baby.
Paramedics and police found scarring and other signs of abuse on the infant.
A later exam later revealed the rape, police said.
The baby will be turned over to Protective Services when she recovers, Roy reported.
Just now found out about this story (saw on another site and searched FR for it). Thought others might not have known about it, either, so I'm bumping it.
Speechless, other than that hanging is too good for him.
yes this guy should be strung from the highest tree possible. if the courts did things like they did in the good old days, this stuff would quit happening, people would even be afraid to let it cross their minds. the law has no sympathy for the real victims, and too much for the criminals, i have a family member who has been arrested at least 20 times for theft, and has never spent more than a week in jail, this time after stealing 18,000 dollars from someone, he has finally been in prison since nov, of 04, and the law enforcement is finally shipping him from county to county to meet up with all the charges he has pending against him, finally, it seems to me that people who do this kind of stuff, just never get whats coming to them, don't you think? this man that raped his child is the dictionary definition of satan. he has no place in society, prison is the best place for him, because even people in prison are convicted of murder, and such other horrible crimes, they could be one of the worst people you have ever heard of, they do take care of child rapers and murderers, this would be the best punishment for this sicko!! let the prisoners have him, they will do to him what he did to that little girl, god be with her.
Kill him now!
A very simple way to stop child sexual abuse from happening in the future is as follows.
Every country in the world makes a Judicial Decision. It is enacted into law that any act of sexual abuse of a child from a certain day forward will be punished by execution of the perpetrator. No appeals are allowed if the accused is proven guilty. With the vast power of the media, including TV, Radio, Newspapers, Pamphlets, Advertising etc. the whole population in a nation within a brief period of time will be aware of the punishment for such a crime.
After the executions begin, the crimes will start to diminish and eventually the crime will not exist on the face of the earth. People in future decades will be glad that this step was taken around the world and humankind was transformed.
There is no more clear case of evil than the sexual abuse of a child. The Pentateuch prescribed strangulation as the form of punishment for this crime.
We cannot change the past, and if all of the people alive today who had sexually abused a child were strangled, there wouldn't be enough rope on the planet to complete the job. True repentance can counter-balance a person's past evil acts. The present and the future are different stories though. We can change the present and the future, and such a bold judicial step, with a future date agreed upon and a massive advertising campaign in-place as well, the initiative would succeed.
We have Drink Driving ads that say..."If you drink and drive you are a bloody idiot."
Why not..."If you sexually abuse a child you know what will happen to you."
The Creator hates attacks on purity, innocence and freedom. A child is the epitome of these qualities. If we can't, or wont protect children, God will not protect us either. It is that simple. The point of no return is being reached. And I am not talking years, I am talking months. God wants to see true changes in the state of world affairs. God has his limits. They are rapidly being reached...
I agree, but the animal that raped her needs to be moved to the front of the line waiting to meet their maker for final judgement.
No argument there. The Marianas Trench may not be deep enough to contain the darkness of his act.
"I don't want anything to happen to him, anything bad"
Well I do! I hope he gets sent to prison and that justice, "prison style", prevails.
Update from the Cincinnati Enquirer, the so called "mother" was indicted yesterday.
MILFORD
Mom charged in infant's rape
The mother of a 7-week-old baby who was raped and suffered broken bones has been charged with two counts of child endangering. Shannon L. Sorah, 27, of Milford is being held in the Clermont County Jail without bond. A bond hearing is scheduled for today. She was indicted Wednesday by the grand jury on the felony charges. "She saw the abuse and didn't do anything about it," said Clermont County Prosecutor Don White. Sorah's husband, Joseph W. Sorah, 34, faces four charges of rape, endangering children and felonious assault against the infant. He is being held without bond.
I weep
Come quickly Lord Jesus.
