The three "persons of interest" have been arrested overnight says Natalee's family spokesperson per Fox News...
I've wondered if these girls have been sold as sex slaves.. to work in brothels. I had heard of another incident, family from VA, and their daughter went missing. 2 yrs. later a man that had been in a brothel, said a woman asked him to help her and told him her name. He didn't believe her but when he came back to states he discovered a girl by that name was missing. They still cannot find her because these brothels are constantly moved and probably bring money to the area. Not much cooperation from locals. I hope they find this girl and that she will be ok.
I've been on one cruise and as you said, socializing was forbidden.
One thing that's bothering me about this story is the lack of comment from any of the other girls on the Aruba trip. It seems they would have information about Natalee's activities, possible alcohol consumption, and plans for the evening. Surely she had a roommate with whom she may have shared her plans. I don't even let my daughter (19 y.o.) go the mall at night without a friend or two.
Why weren't these three arrested from the first day? Dunderhead justice....
What in the world has happened to FR.
I find that odd as well. Nobody seemed overly concerned that she was off by herself until she didn't show up for the plane. No roommate? No close friend on the trip that she would normally hang out with? No buddy system?
What bothers me is that this trip was chaperoned. Where were the chaperones?
I mentioned in another thread that my cousin's son went on a Greece and Italy cruise with his fellow graduates. The trip was chaperoned and there were rules that had to be followed, one of which provided for a curfew. The chaperones actually did bed checks to make sure the kids were in their rooms after that certain hour. One of the boys in the group repeatedly violated the curfew and ultimately was sent home early. The parents had to sign some consent and/or waiver form that gave the chaperones that right, among other things.
RE: FBI scuba search team-Reporter in Aruba from CNN last night stated the team came to Aruba and has left, without ever putting their fins in the water. Reason reporter gave was that Aruba authorities had no clear area for team to start searching.
I grew up on the South Shore but live now on the North Shore. We rack up lots of cross-island miles getting to a real beach.
I've heard some speculation (pure conjecture, not evidence) that Natalee might've had Rohypnol (aka the "date rape" drug) slipped into her drink.
This was suggested by a sex crimes prosecutor, who added that Rohypnol lessens inhibitions before it makes you pass out.
If true, that might explain why Natalee went willingly with a stranger to go "see a lighthouse she hadn't seen before."
Also, I'm not sure she knew she was leaving with three men. She might have thought she was leaving with only one. IIRC someone who witnessed her leaving saw her get in the car with (apparently) only one guy, but then as the car took off, two other guys popped up in the back seat.
Eventually I will too. I love the ocean beaches, especially Montauk. However, right now my boys are very little and the Sound beaches work just fine.
The article does say he "tried" to have sex with her.
You can make your own image of what that is....
I agree, she may have rebuffed him and had fatal consequences....
No one, NO ONE, left behind.
They probably have lots of information. They're just not sharing it with the public, which is wise, unless they had specific information that would help to find her or get the perps.
I've seen comments questioning how no one could miss her until the next morning. In fact, we don't know when she was noted to be missing at all. Might have been at two in the morning when everyone else returned to the hotel.
I noticed that myself. One of her close friends' was interviewed last night on TV. She was very unremarkable(canned rethoric) and close friend's normally look out for one another. NSNR
The sex slave angel might work if this were not an island, but how would they get her off the island undetected? A boat? Certainly not by flying... wouldn't the boats in the nearby waters have been tracked early on?
Discipline will get you through every time. This is something many of these young and older folks fail to understand. NSNR
Yep, safety first.
