NEW YORK (Billboard) -- AC/DC's 1980 breakthrough "Back in Black" has been certified for U.S. shipments of 21 million copies, tying it for fifth place with Billy Joel's "Greatest Hits Vol. 1 & II" on the Recording Industry Assn. of America's all-time best-sellers list.
The Australian hard rock group's first album with lead singer Brian Johnson, who replaced Bon Scott following his alcohol-related death, "Back in Black" was originally released by Atco and was reissued in 2003 by Epic along with the rest of the band's catalog.
Joel's "Greatest Hits Vol. 1 & II" reached 21 million in 2000. The leader of the list remains "Eagles/Their Greatest Hits" (Asylum), last certified in 2002 at 28 million. In second is Michael Jackson's "Thriller" (Epic), which reached 27 million in an April RIAA accounting, followed by Pink Floyd's "The Wall" (23 million/1999; Capitol) and "Led Zeppelin IV" (22 million/1999; Atlantic).

They are like a big-assed, beat up, smoke belching muscle car that just keeps running and running. Shooting flames out of the exhaust, waking neighbors, scaring old people and small children, AC/DC keeps on rocking down the Highway to Hell!!!
Ain't spending my life here , I ain't living alone, Ain't breaking no rocks on the chain gang, I'm breakin out and headin home
Gonna make JAIL BREAK !!!!!!!!!
"Dead or alive I got a .45, and I never miss."
"Say bye bye while your still alive, you time is through"
My memory's a little foggy, but isn't "Touch to Much" Def Leppard?
Bon seemed to preen while Brian looked like a construction worker.
As I was listening to the chill-inducing track "Going The Distance" on the Rocky soundtrack (see above post), I was trying to figure out which songs contain the most musical adrenaline. Both "Distance" and "Gonna Fly Now" fit into that category, and so do songs like Queen's "We Will Rock You," The Ramones' "Blitzkrieg Bop," The Call's "I Still Believe," and LL Cool J's "Mama Said Knock You Out."
Any nominees?
Who knew Angus was talking about Rosie O' Donnell??? I guess he spoiled her for other men.
Every night Street light I drink my booze Some run Some fight I win they lose What I need I like What I don't I fight N' I don't like you So say bye bye While your still alive Cause your time is due Cause I'm a problem child
Those bagpipes with rock and roll just can't be beat...
I then saw them on the Joshua Tree/Rattle & Hum tour five years later. What a disappointment. Bono yapped half the time about Nelson Mandela and famines in Africa. The band robotically went through the motions, playing through a set list of songs and then everybody went home.
I understand the band revamped their stage show during the 1990s and got less pretentious but I never went back to see them. In general, I do like their music however.
No. It wasn't. AC/DC made Def Lep possible.

One of my all time favourites. I'm in my mid 50's too. I have all their cassettes (when they were the in thing) before cd's. No other group out there that makes the sounds they do. Rock on!
Nope, AC-DC Highway to Hell
On my cassette, side one, song 4.
You gotta hear it.
It's off of the Highway to Hell CD.
"Burnin' Alive" which was a shot at Klinton.
OOPS! Just remembered; Bon Scott. Was wondering why I couldn't hear Brian Johnson singing that ditty.
"clears throat" cassette LOL That's how old my copy is. I had Back in Black on 8-track.
What is this "CD" you talk about? :)
One of the best rock albums.
I saw them in concert about 10 yrs ago in San Diego. I've never seen so many Harleys. I felt so safe there. One thing that sucked, they didn't sell beer at the venue this time. Probably because a bunch of drunken bikers wouldn't be so good. I love to watch Angus in his little school boy outfit rock out. He bared his ass to us that night!
The party in the parking lot before the concert was wild.
