A vintage blue taxicab converted into a seagoing vessel and carrying several Cuban immigrants was intercepted Tuesday off Key West by the Coast Guard, a television station reported.

Cubans aren't Mexicans my friend.
they have made multiple crafts most sink or partially sink the best was the school bus thats roof fold down to make pontoons.
"Cuba is a worthless country...so are the majority of it's inhabitants....with the exception of a few."
The Cubans I met in Florida are just itching to get back - after learning their Capitalist skills here, when Castro finally dies and things open up, many will go back and the country will change with a speed that will astound.
Peter, is that a real picture? I saw that they sunk one of those last week.
What a waste of time and talent, eh?
Freedom looks mighty damn good.
You're right, never been to Florida. I've rusted up in the great Pacific Northwet.... It's nice that they are doing that , but that is a very small corner. And are all of these people actually finding this little onclave?
This is not happening all over the US, look at the whole Pacific coast. They come up to work then head back to Mexico and their families.
Cuban immigration peaked in the 1960s and early 1970s, when the middle and upper classes left in droves. Since then, flight out of Cuba has varied (Mariel in 1980 being the exception). The few Cubans who settle in this country go to South Florida. Even those who wind up in other parts of the country eventually wind up in Florida.
This has to be wrong...my friend Ed Azner assures me that Cuba is a Socialist paradise where every man is a king! Why would these people be leaving it?
I'm not talking about having them stay here. Just train them, equip them, and send them off to re-take their country -- for themselves.
Spoken like a true idiot. It is a beautiful island with a wealth of natural resourses... oil, nickle, gold, plenty of rainfal, rich soil, mountains, beaches, great snorkling and fishing, art and music, and a literate population. So much potential, so little wealth, thanks to Castro.
well, that changews things! that I can go for!!!
I'd love to see the tab for what we spend annually on the combination of "intercepting" and repatriating these people, and on our lame efforts to isolate and destabilize the Castro regime. I'm quite sure that the same amount of money, invested in people like this, would be plenty to get the job done in a very short time.
Anyone that resourceful is welcome in the US, imho. Let'em in.
Weren't you supposed to turn left back there?
If they turned LEFT(ist) they would have gone back home :-)
There is no other country in this world people will get on a rickety "CabRaft" to get to. This isn't a first...there have been floating "JeepRafts" and various other "CarRafts" from Cuba before.
In one day there's news of this and the guy from South Africa that bum rushes as a stowaway, to get here and dies in the process.
I don't think anyone is going to these extreme measures to get to France?
It's shattering my belief in the good word of 'Lou Grant' as well.
