Mornin all..sorry I'm late...Senate convenes at 9:30am. More debate., if the Dems have anything left to babble, er, say. Cloture vote at noon...then the confirmation vote could come this afternoon, if the Dems allow it, or, tomorrow, under the Senate rules..
Hm---what did Frist say at the end? Did he say what the schedule will be tomorrow?
I hope you didn't think I was "yelling" at you!!! LOL
I was "cotton picking" the darn Senate!!!
I think the only similarity is that they're both Brown.
No.
This doesn't matter anymore. The GOP folded on the nuclear option. They have lost my vote until they show they have a spine.
Here's the Power Swing history links I told you I'd dig up.
It took me a bit longer to find them than I'd hoped...

This type of chaotic action is ALWAYS what occurs when there is an epochal power shift in America. Look at the posts I'll link below for some descriptions...
Don't give up, and stay tuned, and keep the Pressure on the Senators and RINOs and the RNC - Frist has CLEARLY prepared the battlefield for this type of scenerio since January, and probably before that. Things are going quite predictably - do you think HE doesn't know there are RINOs in the Senate? - and 6-8 weeks from now, when the smoke starts to clear, we'll be able to assess the real result of this. We're in the middle of the smoke now.

These all detail some history. This is what ALWAYS occurs during a major sea change in American politics. I've seen other articles about other periods, but those will do for now.
The former majority has to be shown who is boss --- and that is typically chaotic - and the lesson is harder for them than for the new majority.
No worries! I caught your drift!

9:30 a.m.: Return to Executive Session and resume consideration of the nomination of Janice Rogers Brown to be U.S. Circuit Judge for the D.C. Circuit.
Provided of course that naps, snacks, and lunch doesn't interfere, there should be a vote or two today!
>>>>The chances of a majority D senate in 2006 are vanishingly small. A majority D senate in 2008 are at best marginally better, but by then it is probably more likely there will be over 60 R's.
>>You've got me smiling after reading your synopsis.
Ran across another article today with facts to back up my contention, and widen your smile:
"The Senate would realign 62-38 if every state elected senators from the same party as the presidential candidate they supported, and nine Republicans and 16 Democrats would be defeated. But if we refine the calculations further and eliminate the swing states, which went narrowly for Bush or John Kerry in 2004, we have three Republicans from overwhelmingly Democratic states and 11 Democrats from states Bush carried handily."

You are awesome. Printed your responses so I can followup/catchup.
Looking forward today's Senate hearings, though I will have a TV on in our conference room, I won't be able to post much but will follow the thread.
Thank you
always love to help a FRiend ... ((hugs))
