FReepers vs. Code Pink at Walter Reed, June 3 (Join us June 10!)
DC Chapter ^ | June 7, 2005 | BillF

Posted on 06/07/2005 1:16:40 AM PDT by BillF

For the eighth time in just over 9 weeks, DC Chapter FReepers conducted a FReep of Code Pink's anti-war protest at the gate of Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where many of the most severely wounded troops from the war in Iraq and Afghanistan are taken for continued treatment and rehabilitation. The FReep of the leftists' obscene blood dance was on Friday night, June 3.

The honor roll of those in attendance, in spite of the predicted 100 percent chance of rain: kristinn, tgslTakoma, Doctor Raoul, BufordP, sauropod, lurkers Joan and G, and BillF.  In contrast to our eight patriots, the leftists peaked at seven America-hating traitors.

We didn't deploy the MOAB (Mother of All Banners) this night, instead relying on signs and American flags. The leftists didn't have their usual one U.S. flag, leading Doctor Raoul to wonder if they had finally gotten it to ignite.

As has happened previously, we were honored to have a Walter Reed patient talk with us. The patient, a young Marine who lost a foot in Falujah last September, explained why he was at an Army Medical Center, instead of a Navy hospital. Amputees, even those from the Marines, are often treated at Walter Reed because of Walter Reed's expertise in that area.

Other than a rare shout across the street, there was no real interaction with the Pinkos.

Although we don't have any signs encouraging cars to honk their horns in the hospital zone, numerous cars did honk their horns to indicate support for us, probably a ratio of 4 or 5 to 1 honks in our favor. Those honking for us included an unmarked police car (not sure what police dept as DC has many), a Metro bus, and a military ambulance.

Several of the honks that the Pinkos cheered as support for them were not for them. Motorists zooming by often can't read the leftist signs quickly enough to understand, but they see our U.S. flags and think that the demonstrators on both sides of the intersection are pro-U.S. pro-troops. Some honked as they entered the intersection and before they could read the Pinkos signs.

Perhaps the drop-off in Pinko numbers is because they are getting frustrated when they realize that, even in the liberal bastion of Washington, DC, they are getting very little support. Or maybe they were afraid that they would melt if the predicted rain materialized.

On other occasions, Jimmy Valentine's brother has announced that "it never rains on the DC Chapter!" Indeed, he has maintained that in the face of heavy rain, which he has characterized as a heavy mist. On this night, JVB couldn't make it, but his rule held true. The weatherman's 100 percent chance of rain forecast missed the mark. The rain had stopped before the FReep started and did not return until after the FReep. A few drops hit my windshield as I drove to an undisclosed location for a victory celebration with other of the FReepers.

BELOW PHOTO IS NOT HYPERLINKED.

Leftists across the intersection from us included Code Pink co-founder and DC leader Gael Murphy with "Up VA Benefits" sign.

Thank you, all of you, for taking the time to do this. Code Stink is a bunch of heartless, disgusting, self-absorbed idiots to protest outside a hospital of wounded soldiers.

Two weeks ago, some of the Pinkos that departed early and as they past their own, they honked. The remianing Pinkos jumped up and down as if it was real support.

I informed them that since that was their own protesters who hnked, technically it was a "pity honk" and there's no honk as pitiful as a "pity honk". Which is true and they are pitiful.

On other occasions, Jimmy Valentine's brother has announced that "it never rains on the DC Chapter!" Indeed, he has maintained that in the face of heavy rain, which he has characterized as a heavy mist. On this night, JVB couldn't make it, but his rule held true.

The previous Friday at the recruiting station, I borrowed one of JVB's lines, one he used at the MCI Center on a fake claiming to be a vet.

Friday, one of the Wacko Pinkos was doing an anti-war chant as if it were a cadance count. Quoting JVB into the MOAB megaphone, "I can't hear you. Come on, sound off like you got a pair."

Code Pink's anti-war protest

Message to Code Pink: nothing is more obviously demoralising to those wounded and disabled by war than your taunts that their sacrifice was in vain. Stop being a selfish bunch of bastards. Go away.

Thanks for the ping BillF
Please don't let the troops think that regular Americans are too busy...NOTHING is more important right now than showing our courageous military the love, support and appreciation they deserve!

See you Friday!

Just wondering, what do these Pinko's do for a day job?

Don't answer, just got it. Federal employees.

Actually, some of the Pinkos have made a business out of this and are quite wealthy.

Another Friday night Salute to Our Troops at WRAMC, ping; for those who've been here before, and for those who might be able to stand with us again.

Weather may be "unsettled," but surely not as unsettled as the Code Pinkos are when they see us across the street from them.

Just uploaded the photos for this again.

My web hosting company changed last year, followed by my hard drive failure, with great difficulty recovering data from backup. I’m finally putting photos back on my web site so the photos will be available. I’ll probably do sets of photos for 3 or 4 Walter Reed threads per day when I’m home, but may be traveling for a while so that it may take about 5 weeks to finish all Walter Reed threads.
