GRAND CHUTE, Wis. -- This is my AFC prediction column, and you're probably wondering: What is that weird dateline doing on the AFC prediction column? Well, I came to Wisconsin over the weekend to take the temperature of Brett Favre and gauge his readiness for a 14th season in Green Bay, so it just happens to be where I am right now.
Favre interlude: The Packers QB holds an annual benefit softball game in this little suburb of Appleton, Wis., a 30-minute drive from Lambeau Field. He does it here because this is where the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Midwest League Class A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, play in a nice little venue called Fox Cities Stadium.
Favre looked good. Said he weighs 224 pounds and just finished a five-week, five-day-a-week workout regimen with former Notre Dame strength and conditioning man Ken Kroener down in Mississippi. The Packers paid for the training because they think Favre needs to be in better condition to withstand the rigors of an NFL season than he was last year. Which Favre, basically, confirmed. "People made a big deal of this," he told me, sitting at a locker in the Timber Rattlers' spartan clubhouse, "but I do feel better. This time last year, I hadn't really done anything."
Favre's conditioning program included stretching, body-weight lunges. . .

Don't know. But I like the AFC more anyway.
that's just the thing, since the Sox won, you can no longer say it was a curse, you just have to settle for the fact that they sucked all those years, and then they got good.
Really? I had no idea.
Could be. All I know is that we didn't get enough for Moss in trade and picked the wrong WR when our turn came. That deal, from the standpoint of squad development, was not good for us.
However, if the new defensive horses stay healthy it could be a fun season.
Information overload :)
Nope. Mark my words, Troy Williamson will be better than Mike Williams. I'm not betting my computer on it, but I think they did the right thing. Napoleon Harris will be good, trust me. I had him on my Madden 2005 team once, and my defense dominated.
Torturing Viking fans is an simple and fun hobby. It can be done easily with just two words.
Drew Pearson.

Dallas should be better with a revamped defense and Bledsoe instead of Interceptaverde, perhaps at best a 10-6 playoff team. But still no match for the Eagles, unfortunately for me a Dallas fan. But you never know...
And we reply with three words.
Offensive Pass Interference. :)
True Sox fans NEVER referred to the lack of winning as a curse. The curse was an invention of a hack Boston Globe columnist. It was made worse by the truly lame and unimaginative hacks at Fox Sports. True fans knew that incompetent management, ridculously bad ownership and poor players caused the lack of championships.
Funny how times change. There used to be an extra "N" is that sentence and one fewer "A".
"When I was a lad, the Super Bowl was always a lame blow-out. The real Super Bowl was the Dallas-SF game the week before. Of course, I didn't have a TV then. I had to go to the local church, which was five miles away, uphill, both ways, in two feet of snow . . . "

(you youngens have it easy what with those fancy teeth and all . . . )
I can dream, can't I?
hehe
I'm surprised he hasn't showed up on any of these threads, saw him on a bunch last season.
I'll pick your top six AFC teams right here...
Indianapolis- Manning finally beats New England.
New England- They're good, but they've lost too much.
Pittsburgh- Roethlisberger improves, the running game stays consistent. Watch out for this team in '06.
Cincinatti- The Bungles live up to the promise they showed in 2003 with a 10 win season.
San Diego- Decent QB, great RB get this team to the playoffs.
Jacksonville- The Jags chop wood all the way to the playoffs, especially if their unconventional first round pick pays off...
You can dream. I'm betting he gets 27 receptions for 284 yards, and three touchdowns. Two catches of over fourty yards, 8 first downs. Bookmarking for reference.
We have had a lot more disapointments than just that game. I think the Vikings had a very good draft...but then again..we needed it.
Sounds good, Bettis will most likely retire after '05 (a sure bet for the HOF) and they'll pick up a decent back to help out Staley around the 3rd or 4th round in the draft, that or Free Agency.
