I did as you told me---went and read that article---
The article doesn't mention that the head of the CIA, Tenet, told Bush/Cheney that it was a "slam dunk" that Saddam had weapons..
It also doesn't mention that Nader would have to impeach all of the Senators that made the same allegations on the Senate floor, the nations around the world that said the exact same thing...and even the UN Security Council that said the same thing...
I do believe that Kerry was as emphatic, if not more, than Bush back before the war...
Do the dems REALLY think that WHILE WE ARE AT WAR for the very survival of OUR COUNTRY, that taking the President/VP to an impeachment is a GOOD IDEA???
Oh, yeah, that will really help in the WOT....

What I said was, "I hate to say I told you so ...". And I really do hate it. Even if Lott does the sensible thing in regards to this impeachment drive, there's been a few stories about a bunch of mischief he has been up to lately.

***************************************
Unholy Alliance by David Horowitz Regnery Publishing, Inc.; ISBN: 089526076X Hardcover - 256 pages (September 2004) In this tour de force on the most important issue of our time, David Horowitz, confronts the paradox of how so many Americans, including the leadership of the Democratic Party, could turn against the War on Terror. He finds an answer in a political Left that shares a view of America as the Great Satan with Americas radical Islamic enemies. This Left, which once made common cause with Communists, has now joined forces with radical Islam in attacking Americas defenses at home and its policies abroad. From their positions of influence in the university and media culture, leftists have defined America as the root cause of the attacks against it. In a remarkable exploration of the Mind of the Left, Horowitz traces the evolution of American radicalism from its Communist past to its anti-war present. He then shows how this Left was able to turn the Democratic Party presidential campaign around and reshape its views on the War on Terror.
Horowitzs Unholy Alliance, writes John Haynes, the noted historian of American Communism, is an insightful, brilliant examination of the mental world of the radical left. Horowitz shows how todays radicals, unwilling to reflect on the internal flaws that destroyed Marxism-Leninism from within, have embraced an all-consuming nihilism in its place. This has led them to a hatred of American institutions and a solidarity with Islamic terrorists that makes the radical left more properly regarded as dangerous than loony. Unholy Alliance is an eye-opening book that should unsettle conventional assumptions and reveals why intellectuals and political leaders who applaud Michael Moore are no laughing matter. As Harvey Klehr, author of Venona: Decoding Soviet Espionage in America, writes, The world Communist movement may be moribund, but its habits of mind and ideological fantasies have not disappeared. This is a fascinating and depressing account.

I am just curious---didn't the 9/11 commission see that memo? What about the other commission that already came back and exonerated Bush for "concocting" this war?
AND, what about the fact that regime change in Iraq was already voted in as a US foreign policy goal!!!! Under Clinton, I do believe....
One could say, that Bush was just doing his job, changing regimes!!

Richard Ben-Veniste was allowed to go on and on. They had Liddy muzzled. What a waste of viewing time and it once again reminded me of why I don't like Chris Wallace.Wallace did a great job with those two.
BTW, when Ben Veniste was going "on and on" did you listen? He conceded Felt's motives perhaps were based more on being disgruntled than whistleblowing. He also agreed it would have been more honorable to have gone to Congress, which Liddy--who did get time to speak--pointed out was in dem hands and certainly would have given Felt protection.
To: altura
"Liddy is an interesting guy, but ...... he turns people off because of a few weird characteristics."For all that Ben-Veniste is a smary creep, he did get off the funniest line of the whole show when he referred to Liddy's "hobby of cooking by candlelight".

Perhaps I was projecting. Personally, I always LOVE to say I told you so.

From the thread linked to at post #344:
"The Downing Street Memo" Goes Down
*****************************************
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
It should be noted that downingstreetmemo.com was put together by a bunch of Daily Kos readers....and is linked to by the DNC website.
I just thought I'd point that out since they claim to be nonpartisan.

Perhaps this is also a good time to point out to the morons on the left that the word "fixed" when spoken/written by an educated Brit doesn't mean "manipulated". There is nothing sinister about "fixing" the evidence if you understand the english language.

I can hardly watch the weekend edition of Fox & Friends anymore. Phillips, Jerrick, Chetry and Huddy are all a bunch of stupid liberals who go out of their way to suck up to the Dems. Their cheap shots at conservatives has only gotten worse since Bush was elected.
Look, Julian and Kiran are confirmed Democrats, and I have the suspicion that Mike and Juliet are as well. They keep on about this nonsense about a rollerblade race, and it's one juvenile thing after another with these libs. Weekends on Fox are deliberately stacked with the liberal wackos, and I'm afraid that the weekdays will be next.

Did you see the Wallace intvu with the guy from Amnesty International?
Wallace did pretty good, but whenever the guy lumped the US with North Korea, Sudan, Cuba and other dictatorships, which he did quite a few times during the interview, Chris didn't ask him WHY he insists on putting them all in one sentence...basically saying that the US IS the same as those countries...
I know Wallace did call him out on a specific question, but the guy just kept up including those other countries whenever he referred to the US' supposed rights violations.
He also didn't point out that many of these poor, prisoners that have been let go, have gone back and killed Afghanis and US troops...

Do you actually think the Dims care about the WOT? Their abject hatred for George Bush trumps everything, to the point where they're actively tryinmg to make it a complete failure, for no other reason than to deny the President any kind of accomplishment at all.
And if a few thousand more American citizens have to die in another terrorist attack to take the WOT away from him, the Dims will consider it cheap at the price. And if the deaths occur in a red state, that's just gravy to them.

Do the dems REALLY think that WHILE WE ARE AT WAR for the very survival of OUR COUNTRY, that taking the President/VP to an impeachment is a GOOD IDEA??? Therein lies the problem. They DO NOT care about our country as we know it, they only care about it as they WANT it, which is a communist state.
Were you around for Viet Nam? Same thing is going on today. The only difference from then and now is what we are doing right now. Thank God Alg invented the internet! LOL

In all the discussion on TV this morning, no one seems to have asked how Felt knew about the 18 1/2 minute gap on the Nixon WH tapes before they had been reviewed. Felt was long gone from the FBI when he "disclosed" this to Woodward. How did he know? WHO erased the tape? THAT has never been discovered.Felt's co-author said this week on Hardball that Felt had sources, including in the WH (he speculated Ehrlichman) that he would then pass on to Woodward what he learned from these various sources in addition to his own knowledge.

I gotta admit something here. I listened to Ben-Veniste's first few remarks, but I loathe him so much, I muted him the rest of the time he was on.
I'm not as hardy a soul as some of you, plus I've been sick, and I try to protect my mental health by avoiding things that really upset me.
I don't get the cooking by candlelight thing, but haven't heard much about Liddy in a long while.
