A man who confessed to raping and beating another man he met on an Internet chat room was sentenced to nine years behind bars.
Donald Livingston, 29, told a judge that he and his boyfriend, Charlie Johnson, posed as a 12-year-old girl on the chat room. He said in court Friday that they did that to lure the victim to a park at night.
Livingston said they lured the victim, a 23-year-old Aztec man, to a public park, where the two disguised themselves in black and attacked the man.
Judge Thomas Hynes sentenced Livingston to nine years behind bars for the violent nature of the crime and the lack of remorse.
Johnson, whom authorities say also admitted to the crime, will be sentenced later this month.
Heck, in the 1800's we shot or hanged anybody who raped anybody, and we had a low rape rate back then, with zero recidivism rates.

By your logic, the only evidence in this article that they raped and beat the man is the word of a convicted felon. When a person pleads guilty to a crime we generally accept that guilty plea as the truth. No evidence has been offered to suggest that he wasn't telling the truth. I still say everybody wins.
You are injecting that you just know there was no 12 year old girl faked internet chat. You weren't there and have no evidence at all to prove the story wrong, so stop trying to be so damned pushy that your theory is correct. You are just guessing.

You make no sense whatsoever. The rapist was convicted of rape, therefore he has been proven guilty to the satisfaction of a judge or jury. Just because somebody confesses to a crime, that does not mean every additional self-exculpatory statement they make need be believed. You should not talk of logic. You lack the ability to recognize it.

You are out of your mind. Nobody is claiming that any 12-year-old girl actually existed in this case. Nobody. She was invented by the rapist, either to lure the man he raped to the park, or later. This is obvious. I was merely pointing out this obvious fact to you because in your reply you mentioned a girl as though one existed. Further, I never said there was no internet chat regarding a girl. What I said was that the only evidence in the posted article of this chat was the statement of a convicted felon. I am not offering any theory about this case at all. I am making simple, logical observations about the substance of the posted article, and about the reactions of some FReepers thereto. That this is beyond your understanding speaks poorly of you.

I usually just read the articles. I enjoy some of the replies, but there are so many bizarre hateful people here that refuse to accept that anyone has a belief different from their own. Just like radical Islam, I see little difference in radical Christianity. (Not the killing, obviously, but the pigheaded belief that you are right and no one else is).
I disagree by the way with your positing that 73% of gays have molested. If I were gay I would sue you for that is the most asinine thing I've ever seen.
I'm so sick of it all. I don't want to be associated with radical whack jobs that spew hatred. It's a shame too, because we do some good things with the freeps, though I'm fairly sure that none of you weirdos actually go out and get involved like that. I think I'll go back to advocating, and less to associating.
