No, wrong.
The story was that a Quran got FLUSHED down a toilet, NOT kicked.
Try getting your facts straight.

If you have not disappeared into the ozone, it was the Pentagon that released the information which, last I checked, was part of the government.

The government is used to keeping a certain number of happenings secret and classified. They do this sometimes with the wrong information for the wrong reasons. The discovery that something has been covered up for the purposes of protecting someone's career usually results in several careers being destroyed. But the culture of classified data is hard to break, some things really deserve to be classified. For example, when we capture a computer with good information on it that takes time to decode. Telling the bad guys about this will give them tiem to alter their plans and locations making the information usless. But if they don't hear that the data is being analyzed maybe they continue doing what they are doing.

In the case of desecration of someone's holy book it was probably thought that the incident could be kept from the other prisoners and defused over time. This was a bad supposition.

So our people showed more respect for the koran than these monkeys have ever shown a Bible? This is a non story. Maybe I'll print rolls of toilet paper with the Koran written on them and sell them on e-bay. Everything I needed to know about islam I learned on 9-11.
