I basically left out the Navy. Didn't think it was under discussion. Sorry.

I wonder why they wrote it that way?

The way I read it, they wrote it that way to include and allow for the existence of an Army (and a Navy, won't make that mistake again) and the state militias. OK, cool so far...

So the army was only supposed to be funded 2 years at a time.

And the Army is actually funded one year at a time, so we're exceeding the standard. Glad we're on the same page.

The MILITIA was supposed to be the only 'stranding (sic) army'

I don't see that in paragraph 15, which is a list of uses for which Congress can employ the militia.

The original intent was that the jurisdiction of the United States extended ONLY to Washington D.C. and military bases.

Small correction, per the cited paragraph.

Intent is one thing. How it is being implemented is another.

The Amendment says: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."

Good morning.

An unorganized militia backed up by the state militia would work just fine, I think.

Federal military technology could provide surveillance capabilities and logistical support.

There are several levels of defense needed but, first we need to accept that this migration has, in fact, become an invasion with a goal of conquest.

The Supreme Court for the State of Utah ruled that the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution is a "fraud" in fact and in law.

I heard a rumor a month ago that a legislator in Utah was researching a Bill to be written that would remove State citizenship from all 'anchor babies' of Utah. I never called his office because the lady who told me is US District Judge and I didn't want to cause any problems. Some States are interested in what States rights are it seems.

My aren't we up in the wee hours ... This topic must be bothering you ... as it is me

IMO ... FWIW ... we ARE being invaded from the south and if OUR government will not do it's job ... including the NG ... which IMO is NOT the militia (another topic) I believe it first becomes the task of the citizenry to form a militia and tend to the problem of the border and the second task for the citizenry is to tend to our negligent government officials.

No. I believe it's U.S.C. Title 10 (someone will correct me if I'm wrong), that it is every man between the ages of 18 to 55. Soon, I won't be militia material anymore. 8^(

It's pretty clear that the Mexican government is using the migration for it's own purposes. The Reconquista is a reality and the migrants are a military force in the same way that the MM are.

What bothers me the most re the illegal alien discussion is when Bush and other politicians keep throwing the "they come here to work" crap in our faces.

Then, in a subtle fashion hidden from view (buried in the Medicare Bill), they set aside $1 billion dollars to reimburse Arizona, California, Texas, and other states' hospitals for the free medical care that it costs us. How much national press is given to the cost to this nation ? Practically none by the MSM--it is always about "we are a nation of immigrants", which is crap anyway since the immigrants of the early 1900s came here legally and had to suport themselves--no public $ for them.

If an independent study was done by a think tank or two that showed the "net inflow" or "net outflow" of tax dollars to settle the question of whether it helps us or hurts us, it would shock the American public. There is a huge net outflow and cost to the illegal alien invasion.

The public welfare alone that cares for illegal aliens will bankrupt this nation. Both parties are looking out for votes (illegal alien votes) as opposed to looking out for the nation's future. That is why they allow the drivers licenses, matricula cards, etc and refuse to protect our borders and national sovereignty.
