Welsh singing star Charlotte Church branded US President George Bush "a right weirdo" and opera legend Pavarotti a "big fat diva", it has been reported.
The singer took a swipe at the famous men during an appearance on Glasgow-based Clyde 1 radio to promote her new single, Crazy Chick.
Church, 19, said gaffe-prone Bush had no idea where Wales was when she met him after performing for outgoing President Bill Clinton in Washington in 2000.

She seems to base it on meeting him. He prolly asked her where Wales was. I would bet that more Americans do not know where it is than the number that do. How many people in the world can identify every single country in the world, including the ones that aren't legitimately countries anymore? For most of it's history, Wales wasn't even a country, so much as it was a bunch of smaller Principalities.

Isn't she the Diva that was upset over having an interview preempted by 9/11 coverage?

"He was horrible, really nasty. He was a pig and I was supposed to do a duet with him. He was like, You have to sing the mezzo. I said: I am a soprano. How am I supposed to sing the mezzo? And he said: You dont sing with me then.... Pavarotti is a big fat diva."
Um...pot meet kettle?

Well, truth be told, I would have picked Van, but the subject was Wales.
Actually, Tom Jones is one heck of an entertainer and still going strong. When I saw him, here in SF, a few months ago, the crowd was very eclectic. I saw everything from 16 year old girls with their mothers, to a large contingent of blue haired lady's who appeared to have just came off the tour bus from the rest home.
All in all, I would say it was a most enjoyable evening.

Before Edward I (Longshanks) hammered the Scots, he did a number on Wales. Even before it was brought under the thumb of England, it wasn't exactly a country & we're talking over 700 years ago here. lol There have been recent maneuvering to try to get "back" something that didn't exist originally, which might be where lil Miss Charlotte gets the silly notion that Wales is a country.
To: Red Sea Swimmer
She turned her back on classical, which gave her initial fame, to become "popular". Among classical music listeners, she's already viewed with slight regard.
