The Radical Lies of Aids
FrontPageMag.com ^ | June 03, 2005 | Jamie Glazov

Posted on 06/03/2005 11:18:37 AM PDT by FormerLib

Glazov: Dr. Brody, let’s begin with you. Could you kindly comment on this phenomenon and give your perspective on some of the themes I have raised?

Brody: In the early 1980s, in my hometown of New York, it was apparent that AIDS deaths were occurring in transfusees, injecting drug users, and male homosexuals. It was also apparent to the homosexual community that given that affected population, generous federal funding would not be forthcoming. People skilled at public relations developed the "Big Lie": that HIV was a major risk to all, and was readily spread via penile-vaginal intercourse (rather than only by injection or anal intercourse) to otherwise reasonably healthy adults. This lie was understandable given the circumstances at that time. With time, generous funding became available, and the lie was no longer needed for the original purpose.

However, by that time, several political interests became very invested in the Big Lie. Those interests included those who sought to confuse political equality of homosexuals with egalitarian disease susceptibility (I suspect that only a small minority of those promoting that agenda were themselves nominally homosexual). So-called "gender feminists", inspired by the late Andrea Dworkin and her ilk, were keen to vilify intercourse, and hoped to reduce intercourse frequency (in favor of sexual behaviors that were less exclusively heterosexual), as well as to dampen its quality and intimacy (via condom promotion).

In addition to the major role played by the political left, segments of the political right might have been pleased to see a means of enforcing relative sexual continence. People of any political persuasion who, for their own psychological reasons, feared intercourse, also joined the chorus.

There was a good article posted in Bloggers a few weeks back that discussed the possibility that HIV didn't cause AIDS. It was very interesting but I can't find it now.

How did they say AIDS was contracted?

Sex on a grassy knoll?

You Blogger fanatics remind me of the guy in that Visa commercial .... "I gotta get outta this back room".

"Odd, some one was just claiming the same familiarity with Africa/Middle East and they claimed it was commonplace."

Not "Africa/Middle East," but "places where virginity is required of the girls." Specifically, my brother was in Saudi Arabia for an extended period of time, and his comments to me referred to Saudi Arabia. I opined that places where virginity is demanded may contribute to homosexuality. I don't have any numbers for HIV in Saudi Arabia and I don't know the correlation between the demand for virginity and AIDS in Africa. It varies from nation to nation and tribe to tribe.

I am a SHE, not a he.

"People skilled at public relations developed the "Big Lie": that HIV was a major risk to all"

That isn't the half of it.

At the same time they closed off routine testing for it and and managed to forbid any disclosure of those infected.

As the father of two nurses, I was especially outraged by the latter!

The power of this tiny group of perverts is absolutely unbelievable!

"I would conclude he is a Christian. I have not attacked Christianity. All I have done is demonstrate that he is a hypocrite of the first order."

Bulldung. Include the context with the character attack. Show the others here that it was meant to illustrate the ridiculousness of asserting AIDS is not now a heterosexual disease too.

Let me paraphrase, for the third time, what I said:

I said if heterosexuals don't have to worry about HIV, then have unprotected sex with a hooker, or set your daughter up with an HIV positive man. Clearly a proper response would be "no way," because you and the formerlib know that HIV is a threat to heterosexuals. Obviously, I was not WISHING Hiv on anyone.

I don't think we have accurate data for closed Muslim countries.

And their proposition is what?

All people who have AID's had HIV, but not all people who have HIV are gonna get AID's?

having spent 18 of my years in Afric, that things like homosexual sex are anathema.

Yeah, and I'm sure denials of animalism and stickin pins in little dollies would also be vehemently denied.

Sounds like pure jealousy from a "woman" like Dworkin, who clearly was never propositioned by a single man for sex in her entire (thankfully brief) life...

That's UN WHO Propaganda and clearly shows you don't know what the hell you are talking about. "Note the figure of 30% unsafe injection use the world over. But somehow in Africa unsafe injection use only contributes 2.5%"

It is not wise to compare Africa with developed countries.
Africans die daily from preventable diseases that would require a mere innoculation to prevent. In a region like this where witch doctors are used more often than actual physicians, how many have actually ever seen a needle?

YOU KNOW that I was only trying to illustrate the ridiculousness of the assertion that HIV is a gay disease.

To admit that homosexuals are one of the primary carriers for AIDS does not mean that heterosexuals are immune. You should know that.

"I don't know what is going on between you and Tulane, but I'd like a link to the person who 'refuted' what i said. For some reason I do not think his post will be completely pertinent. Plus i was wondering what your response was to my last post (129)."

I, a her, made several posts and picking out a link to one, which no doubt will be selective and out of context doesn't mean your arguments were not refuted.

In such cultures, being the "catcher" often is anathema while being the "pitcher" carries no negative connotation at all.

Geez Spetz, I apologize. I was breezing through posts so fast, and was a tad angry at being accused of something I was not guilty of (by another poster)--I went after you, making the assumption you were a part of the lynch mob.

I sincerely apologize for my mistake! I'll kick my own butt for yah.

...to exclude heterosexual people would likely lead to an explosion of HIV...

Most important to note here is that they only people making such a suggestion are those who disagree with the article. I'm not sure how you managed to read these additional inferences into the article, but it never makes these points.

"What was listed as their cause of death?
Most often, "consumption" or "natural causes."

Does it mean we didn't have cancer in this country until the advent of modern day pollution?

HUH? Is there some sort of contest for saying silly things in this thread?"

Those are excerpts from a longer conversation, that when taken out of context don't make any sense.

To clarify, here's the post you quoted out of context that you qualified as a contest of who can say the silliest things in this thread:

original post: Another Left-bred bias was present – a lack of realistic appreciation that African data can be tainted by widespread official corruption, as well as endemic poverty, ignorance, and superstition."

I said: African data is not complete because most do not have health care and adequate testing. Imagine the numbers if poverty-stricken and the very rural were tested. Often in Africa, people die without knowing what caused the death. The numbers are not inflated, AIDS deaths are undercounted.
Every day, people (including many babies) waste away and die. Who counts the AIDS deaths in these bush communities with witch doctors counted as the medical professionals? You are right about superstitions. Sometimes when an African gets those purple legions, they are said to be "possessed" when they in fact have AIDS.

Imagine how many people died of cancer in this country when we were dirt poor and at the technological equalivalent that many Africans are today. What was listed as their cause of death? Does it mean we didn't have cancer in this country until the advent of modern day pollution?

---That was meant to be an illustration (for westerners with some knowledge of their history) of how a disease can be undercounted when medical technology is not present
and when peiople cannot afford to see a doctor, if any are present within their area.

Perhaps I should have said "modern medical care" instead of pollution.

Ok formerlib. You accuse me of wanting you and your daughter to get AIDS, without the proper context and spirit of what I said. Now Tulane is a "lemming moonbat?" And you want to make moral judgements about us?

His entire point is that heterosexual sex is now the leading cause of HIV/AIDS in some parts of the world. That's all. I don't care if he read the entire article or not. He does not deserve to be called this. He never insulted you, nor did I.

"...HIV-based definition of AIDS (see § 3) can not be used in Africa to distinguish AIDS-defining from otherwise indistinguishable diseases, because as of 1985 the WHO decided at a conference in Bangui, Africa, to accept African AIDS diagnoses without HIV-tests (see § 3)."

If this is true, then why can't the reverse be true to offset the few cases that may be misdiagnosed? How many people who die of AIDS are said to have died of demon possession?

I diagnosed a man at San Francisco airport as having AIDS, and I am not even a doctor. He was about 75 pounds, in a wheelchair, on oxygen and had purple legions all over his arms and face. What else causes purple legions in conjunction with "wasting away" and respiratory symptoms?
I have a nurse friend (with little AIDS experience) who was called by her ex husband to help him because he was sick. She walked in, looked at him and said "You have AIDS." He did. If she can diagnose AIDS correctly, so can an African doctor in an area with a 25% infection rate.
