The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Despite the massive federal, state and local law enforcement effort to stop terrorists from entering the United States, there is no strong evidence of how well it is working.

Many experts are concerned that there are plenty of terrorists or sympathizers already in the country who have been here for years. Some are even citizens.

The Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers were the first wave and now the increasing number of arrests seems to signal a second wave of terrorism in South Florida.

1-9 FA discovers enormous cache in Zafaraniya factory

BAGHDAD, Iraq – A stockpile of materials used to make explosives was discovered June 5 by 1st Battalion, 9th Field Artillery, at a factory in Northern Zafaraniya.

The stockpile consisted of over 1,000 sub-munitions and 56,000 fuses.

It was discovered after the owner of the factory met with a Coalition forces government support team, and told them that he wanted to open his factory but needed a pile of explosives removed from it first.

Coalition Forces sent a patrol to the factory to determine the type of explosives on site.

The factory owner, who preferred not to be named, thanked the Coalition forces and said there is an overwhelming feeling amongst the Iraqi people that things are getting better.

“One by one, the citizens of this country are taking action to stop the violence,” Lt. Col. Steven Merkel, 1-9 FA commander, said.

See, there is no such thing! Atropine is not an antidote but rather it serves to treat the symptoms of nerve agent until a hospital can be reached. The automatic injectors are designed to be used by individual soldiers and can be used up to three within 15 minutes. Each soldier is only issued one. Why? Well in the case of a real chemical attack there will be plenty of folks around who won't ever need their injector.... If you can identify the symptoms in yourself (tightness in chest, profuse drooling and postnasal drip and dimness of vision--these three positively ID nerve agent poisoning) well the odds are that you're already dead.

Most utilities (water and power) take meticulous care of the areas surrounding water supplies and substations. How do they do this....some use bids for the maintenance of these areas. Now suppose the bidders used foreign laborers? Is it likely they are checking the documentation of workers they never see or who are in these areas in the evenings or on weekends (non-work hours)? Just a question!

In previous years, before and after the US-led invasion of Iraq in March 2003, Penn travelled twice to the Iraqi capital Baghdad, where he denounced both the war and the Bush administration.
