The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Despite the massive federal, state and local law enforcement effort to stop terrorists from entering the United States, there is no strong evidence of how well it is working.

Many experts are concerned that there are plenty of terrorists or sympathizers already in the country who have been here for years. Some are even citizens.

The Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers were the first wave and now the increasing number of arrests seems to signal a second wave of terrorism in South Florida.

I think we have seen that these cells are very difficult to track down. Even if we get them 90% of the time, the 10% we miss can cause great havoc. Britain has been one of the top countries regarding counter-terrorism operations on their own soil, and they didn't get the guys who committed the attack last week.

Just an FYI to my friends here at TM.
I'm having some pretty big life changes in the next 2 weeks. Moving xcountry, leaving work, buying a home and planning a wedding that will happen in 3 months.
Unfortunately, due to all these things and others, it will be difficult for me to stay in touch or to do any translations during this time.
I hope to be back at it strong after all this stuff is done in the next 2 weeks or so. I hope to be able to check in during that time, but it's tough to say if I'll get the chance.
I'll miss you guys!

If he sourced his info in his book, then he is in the clear and it is Farrah's fault for not doing so in his newsletter. If I tell you I ate a tuna sandwich for lunch, who cares if I can prove it or not? If I tell you that a nuclear weapon was nearly smuggled into the US years before 9/11, then I'd better be able to back something like that up. It doesn't matter if you are CBS News or an online subscription-only newsletter. If you start talking nukes, you have to have solid gold sources or evidence (not vague unnamed "officials")to back up what you are saying or people will write you off as a nut, as it seems most of the posters on that other thread did.

If the real threat gets over-hyped, then it gets discredited and few take it seriously until it is too late.

Approximately 2 PM EST, the building that houses several companies on Oak Tree Blvd, opened a suspicious package, several people are ill and have received medical treatment. On of the companies is Clear Channel Radio, Cleveland's WTAM broadcasts there, and currentely are not available to stream their broadcasts. (They are streaming FOX sports.)

Anyone in the Northern Ohio/Western Pennsylvania/Southern Michigan area can receive the live broadcast on WTAM 1100 AM with Mike Trivasonno and his staff, they are broadcasting from a temporary studio set up in the parking lot.

There are no commercials, sports, traffic reports due to the building being evacuated.

HAZMAT crew appear to have finished, and have removed their gear was just reported.
