The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Despite the massive federal, state and local law enforcement effort to stop terrorists from entering the United States, there is no strong evidence of how well it is working.

Many experts are concerned that there are plenty of terrorists or sympathizers already in the country who have been here for years. Some are even citizens.

The Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers were the first wave and now the increasing number of arrests seems to signal a second wave of terrorism in South Florida.

I couldn't decide if it meant a 'car from the Embassy' or was a brand.

Nash made a model called the Ambassador in the 1950's, I think, that is a foggy memory recall.

I did a quick google and got a surprise, I was right, but the model was made for more years than I recalled.

Pogrom Carried Out at Moscow Kosher Supermarket

MOSCOW, Russia - This week, one of the largest kosher supermarkets
in Moscow suffered a pogrom. Located on Trifonovskaya Street, just
several minutes walking from the Marina Roscha Community Center,
this is the only kosher food store in Moscow that is supervised by the
Russian Kashrut Department of the Federation of Jewish Communities
of Russia.

Two young men wearing gas-masks aggressively entered the kosher
supermarket shortly before it was to close, spraying an unidentified
gas and bashing the sale goods of the store's shelves and displays.
According to Rabbi Uri Spasskiy, who happened to be in the
supermarket at the time of the pogrom, one of the men was holding a
model of a Kalashnikov machine-gun in his hands.

The store managers and Jewish community officials immediately
reported the incident to law enforcement agencies. The police have no
doubt over the anti-Semitic nature of this violent episode, since the
attackers shouted anti-Semitic slogans, glorifying Hitler, throughout
the entire incident.

"Border threats: Canada the source of next terrorist attack on U.S.?"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Canada's welcoming immigration policies have long drawn scrutiny from Americans, who fear a terrorist claiming refugee status could lie in wait to carry out a mission. That threat still exists, says David Harris, former chief of strategic planning for the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, Canada's counterpart to the CIA.

Harris asserts more than 50 terrorist organizations have a presence in Canada.

"Canada has essentially said, if you put your foot in Canada and you declare yourself a (Geneva Convention) refugee, then by and large you are," says Harris. "It means that we're quite susceptible to penetration."

Canada continues to admit 250,000 new immigrants and refugees annually. A Canadian government report notes that refugee claims can be delayed up to two years, meaning potentially dangerous applicants can disappear."

Martyrdom-seeking movement member Vesaly: My name is Vesaly... We are first and foremost Muslims and it is our duty to defend our brothers and sisters throughout the world. We don't need permission from anybody. This has to do with our religious duty and responsibilities. This is our choice, and we have no fear. We adhere to the legacy of our late leader, Imam Khomeini.

Crowd: There is no God but Allah. There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is Allah's messenger.

Reporter: These young women have forsaken the temptations of life, and have taken the hard way. Indeed, they have chosen martyrdom as a way of liberating the Islamic lands. This is what they say.

40,000 time bombs in Iran - this is the number of volunteers so far, and the registration is still open. There is no distinction between men and women, Sunnis or Shiites. "We all sacrifice for the sake of Islam," they chant. This is the movement of martyrdom seekers, whose goals and organizational structure are still unclear. In Shamilkala (former Mahachkala) five crews and one bus from the gang of the Patrol Post Service were blown up.
 
In Hasavyurt special division "Djundulla" blew up a truck “Ural” with Russian invaders onboard. We, as Allah rules to us, will ambush you everywhere, capture you, attack you from everywhere, and liquidate you there, where we find you! You will be trapped everywhere with danger and death!

So I figured this was breaking news and put an article up on the News/Activism page. For about 5 minutes it was in breaking news on the right hand side, but now it's gone.

Secret documents known as "martyrs' kits" obtained by The Post provide a startling glimpse into the world of suicide bombers, who are recruited with promises that their families will be well taken care of financially.

These kits ensure that the families of Hamas, PLO and Palestinian Islamic Jihad killers get generous "charitable donations" from Saudi Arabia-based organizations and, while he was in power, Saddam Hussein.

The documents reviewed by The Post include a martyr kit for Maher Kamel Hbeishe, a Hamas fanatic who blew himself up on a Haifa bus Dec. 2, 2001, killing 15 Israelis and wounding 40.

Much of the kit's paperwork carries the corporate logo of the Arab Bank — the Middle East's most important and influential financial institution — and the numbers of the accounts through which his family was paid.

The cover on Hbeishe's file — in the records of Saudi relief committees — proclaims: "the martyrs receive reward from their Lord, they and their light."

Replete with florid Arabic tributes to dead terrorists, the paperwork explains the manner of death, making it clear that the bank knew exactly whom it was giving money to and why.
