The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Despite the massive federal, state and local law enforcement effort to stop terrorists from entering the United States, there is no strong evidence of how well it is working.

Many experts are concerned that there are plenty of terrorists or sympathizers already in the country who have been here for years. Some are even citizens.

The Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers were the first wave and now the increasing number of arrests seems to signal a second wave of terrorism in South Florida.

JAKARTA, June 3 (Xinhuanet) -- The US embassy in Jakarta said Friday it has learned that as of June 1, there were plans by extremists to conduct bomb attacks in the capital city. The planned attacks target "the lobbies of hotels frequented by westerners in Jakarta," the embassy said in a statement. "The attacks were to occur circa noon on an unspecified date," it said, adding that there is no additional information on the timing for or the method of the attacks. The warning was the second issued by the embassy in the last ten days. The embassy on May 26 closed services due to a "security threat." Enditem

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A SECTION of Parliament House was sealed off this morning after a suspicious package sent to the Foreign Minister was found in the building's loading dock.

The package contained a sealed plastic bag of white powder, the Department of Parliamentary Services said. An ACT police spokesman said this afternoon the contents of the package were, tests showed, "clearly harmless".

It was addressed to Mr Downer and was found at 9.05am (AEST) today during routine screening in the loading dock."

ALGIERS - A suspected al Qaeda agent who divulged a plot to attack Britain is due to go on trial on terror-related charges in Algeria on Wednesday, officials said.
Mohamed Meguerba, 37, was arrested in Algeria in December 2002 after jumping bail in Britain, where he had given police information in the biggest British terrorism case since the September 11 attacks in the United States.

Information he gave interrogators led to the arrests of 100 people in an anti-terrorism sweep in Britain. One of them, Kamel Bourgass, was convicted last week of a plot to launch chemical and bomb attacks.

Meguerba faces accusations of being a member of a terrorist organisation operating abroad and of one active in Algeria. He also faces charges of using fake documents and other more minor crimes....

Fearing extradition, Meguerba told Algerian authorities that plotters in Britain were keeping deadly ricin poison in a skin-cream jar and planned to smear it on door handles. British police did not find the poison but found recipes to make it."

Bricks, made me think of "Yellow Cake", an ore that is very rich, for making bombs. I think it is said to come in bricks, some where or other I read that. 2nd choice for bricks is narcotics. Above is about all I know on the subject, but it jumped at me while reading your posts, so I brought it over here to post from the last thread.

Final liquidations of glass sound clearly nuclear (many in FR have
spoken heatedly about turning Iran to glass if they start something)
...out of Syria from dropping/unloading at port "bricks" (all bricks are
radioactive by nature to one degree or another, the "heaviness" of the
brick is an oblique reference to radioactive isotopes possibly
)...deporting could reference those water ports we were all watching a
while back..."termination first"... deadly detonation with a follow-up
blast. For example, in the Clancy story Sum of All Fears I think the
blast that hit Baltimore was only the small detonation part of what
could have been a much bigger explosion.
