The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Threat Matrix - Daily Terrorism Threat
Threat Matrix: U.S. Terrorism
Expert: Al-Qaida Has Presence In South Florida
Full Story

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Despite the massive federal, state and local law enforcement effort to stop terrorists from entering the United States, there is no strong evidence of how well it is working.

Many experts are concerned that there are plenty of terrorists or sympathizers already in the country who have been here for years. Some are even citizens.

The Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers were the first wave and now the increasing number of arrests seems to signal a second wave of terrorism in South Florida.

"HUMAN TRAFFICKING (SLAVERY) - Legislative Update - (up to 900,000 victims each yr; mostly children)"

Excerpt:

Worldwide news reports say bartenders from Cancun to Aruba to Jamaica regularly spike the drinks of unsuspecting women with drugs such as Rohypnol (roofies) and GHB (Liquid Extacy) for the purpose of "date-rape,"

but reports also indicate the increasing use of narcotics to place women in a submissive state to move them into position for transportation to Caribbean island and South American brothels for indefinite periods for use as drugged prostitutes in known white slavery rings.

Late at night, Aruba’s California lighthouse could easily serve as a beacon to guide boats to the deserted beach to quickly drop off and pick up narcotics--

but news show guests intimated that submissive females, possibly drugged by bartenders or other patrons at a popular club like Carlos and Charlie’s could be victims of sexual transport.

"Spotters," paid to watch for attractive women on vacation as potential sex slaves could guide them into a bar to be drugged and then out into a waiting car and boat for transportation to mainland or island bordellos.

Insurgent attacks decreased in Baghdad due to Operation Al-Barq [Lightning] -- Sulagh
Kuwait News Agency ^ | 2005 Jun 11

Posted on 06/12/2005 1:56:09 AM PDT by Wiz

BAGHDAD, June 11 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Interior Minister Bayan Jabr Sulagh said on Saturday that insurgent attacks in Baghdad have dramatically decreased since launching Operation Al-Barq, asserting that Iraqi security forces will establish full security in Baghdad within the next six months.

In a press conference in Baghdad, the minister said that the number of car-bomb attacks in Baghdad have decreased from 14 attacks a day to one or two attacks only, while the number of arrested insurgents increased from 10 to 85 a day, noting that Operation Al-Barq has a 90 percent success rate.

Sulagh added that the number of detainees was 219 before launching the operation and increased to 1318 detainees during the operation, noting that the number of insurgents killed in the operation reached 36 insurgents, while detainees include four Sudanese, two Jordanians, one Egyptian, and one Syrian.

The minister said that 73 detainees were released after interrogations proved then innocent of their accusations, and that a special interrogation team will continue the investigation process and release those found innocent.

He said that the Iraqi security forces seized eight ready-for-use car bombs in Baghdad, and seized 27 other car bombs in gunmen hideouts.

He added that the forces seized six million US dollars, 52 mortar rounds, 37 missiles, 325 Kalashnikovs, 13 RPG-7 launchers, 36 guns, and 37 grenades. - The minister noted that four Iraqi policemen and army men were killed and 17 others were wounded in Operation Al-Barq, while 35 civilians were killed and 87 were wounded in the operation.

I hate to say it, but I think it'll take a nuke on Berkely to start (I said START) a change in attitude in California.

Nah, they'd only blame America first, then sit around singing Kumbaya.

Clean it up [Mexico pollutes river w/disease, "migrants" swim thru it, then work in food industry]
San Diego Union Tribune ^ | June 12, 2005

Posted on 06/12/2005 8:06:02 AM PDT by John Jorsett

For decades, the open sewer known as the New River has carried a toxic brew of pollutants across the U.S.-Mexico border, through Calexico and Brawley and on to the Salton Sea, polluting everything in its path.

Despite a quarter century of promises on both sides of the border, the New River still stinks, still directly threatens the health of tens of thousands of Californians and still qualifies as perhaps the most polluted waterway in North America. In addition to the raw sewage dumped into the river in Mexicali, the New River's sludge contains heavy metals, pesticides and numerous disease-carrying pathogens, according to the California Environmental Protection Agency.

In 1979, the California Department of Health reported that water samples from the New River contained levels of intestinal bacteria 1 million times higher than that permissible for domestic rivers under standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Today, a quarter-century later, the New River is almost certainly filthier than it was then.

On any given night, scores of Mexican migrants seeking to enter the United States illegally float down the New River, hiding amid its coagulated white foam and counting on the river's noxious filth to keep the U.S. Border Patrol at bay. After their immersion in the most disease-breeding water on the continent, some of these migrants then move on to work in agriculture and food-service industries in California.

Border Patrol agents who accidentally fall into the New River while pursuing illegal migrants are immediately sent to a hospital to be disinfected.

Enough is enough. This environmental disgrace has gone on far too long.
