Oh yes, lefties, it's because you're such nice people that you have utterly revolted the majority of citizens in this country.

You are so correct in thinking you need to be more hostile and abrasive. History shows that angry, obnoxious left-wingers are proven vote magnets. Yes sir.

(Hee hee.)

You tread on dangerous ground, speaking as such in a room full of cheerleaders (but personally your points are valid and accurate). All one has to do is look back after the Reagan years and recognize that there was no way the GOP should have lost the presidency to the the DEM's ,except that GB41 gave the office away to them by thinking he couldn't lose to a nobody governor named Clinton.

Cockiness, pride, and haughtiness goeth before a fall. Even for the GOP. Everyday that GWB allows to go by without securing the border, reigning in gub'ment spending, and enticing domestic job creation, hurts the conservative cause. The security of the homeland issue will not be solely sufficient to ensure that his GOP successor will take the presidential office next time. I pray we (GOP, conservatives, etc.) have learned this lesson, but I'm not seeing much evidence of it so far. If we lose in 2008, we have no one to blame but ourselves. It won't be because the DEM's beat us head to head.

"It's a shame."

I'm not big on conspiracies, but I think one is going on here. I believe the 2 parties need each other. Without corrupt parties with somewhat equal power, an alternative may arise. Possibly even an honest alternative.
I don't think either party wants to render the other party non-viable. So, they do just enough to gain an advantage, and then ease up, or do things that are counter intuitive simply to give the other guys a chance.
I really believe this.

"You tread on dangerous ground, speaking as such in a room full of cheerleaders"

Yep, and I've posted like this before recently. They can't attack when someone is right. Most of the folks here are reasonable, they know the score. They just don't like to see it pointed out.
I'm just one of those people who likes to make sure the Bush bots know the emperor has no clothes.

Sadly, all those things you mentioned will give a "President Hilary".
The voters aren't being bought off by a smoke screen any more. Fortunately, the Demos have no one in their talent pool, but As the Beast moves rightward (all false of course)it will happen.

More fraud combined with doing away with the electoral college, are probably their only hope. Removing the electoral college will allow inner-city fraud in the blue states to be transferred to the red states. Keeping the electoral college binds the fraud to their own states only.

I bet that "Take back America Conference" was a lot like the hippie fest on that South Park Episode: "Die Hippie Die".

When are these fool going to get a job and fill their meds regularly.

"As the Beast moves rightward (all false of course)it will happen."

Around here there are lots of "old time" democrats. They are the people that are socially conservative, and not all the liberal economically. In reality, their views are more republican than democrat, they just don't know it.
Anyway, many of those people make up the "swing vote". They loved Clinton. Economically, times were good under Clinton. They think their getting Bill if they vote for Hillary.
Don't laugh this off, this is how we'll end up with President Clinton yet again.

"Liberals are congenitally polite and reasonable and rational."... Gore campaign manager Donna Brazile got in her shots at the Bush administration — she referred to it as "Dick Cheney and the rest of those creeps"

Yeah! That's Right! That's their problem. They're just too rational and polite.

"We need to stop being so polite," she said. "Liberals are congenitally polite and reasonable and rational."

Wow! Those must be powerful drugs she's on.

The Left may as well have won. They are controlling the agenda. (With the help of seven Scalawag Republicans.)

I heard a folk singer on a leftie public radio station singing a 'protest' song that contained the phrase "we owe it to the pioneers to take our country back." I laughed. Did this moron mean the 'sexist, oppressive, racist, homophobic, radical Christian, genocidal, envoronment destroying, capitalist, land stealing, militarist' 19th century America that the left has been wailing nonstop about since the 60's? It's as ludicrous as a pinko like Peter Jennings praising "The Greatest Generation". These people never 'had' this country, and have spit on the beliefs, individuals and institutions that brought us from the Industrial Revolution to be the economic and military savior of the free world. Who do they think they're kidding, other than each other?

Concerning the Wellstone sons, they were in shock over the loss of their family, they had to be, but they let themselves get caught up in the moment and behaved abominably. Others should have been looking out for them.

I think it's time to think about honest alternatives. In any case, a true groundswell of pressure could serve as a reminder to party leadership.

Former Gore campaign manager Donna Brazile got in her shots at the Bush administration — she referred to it as "Dick Cheney and the rest of those creeps"

Lake recommended — seriously — that Democrats adopt political slogans like "It's time to clean out the stables."

Not what Miss Manners would consider “congenitally polite”.

I disagree. If there is a God, those who worked long and hard for everything they could find that was antithetical to God's commandments will surely not be resting in peace.

Allegedly, one is answerable before God for one's sins and deliberate acts of wrong doing.

Scratch a "progressive" and you find a Stalinist - note that the first thing out of Pariser's and Brazile's mouths was that the problem was lack of party solidarity. Wrong. The problem is lack of ideas.

It certainly isn't from lack of opportunity. Darfur, for example - the unilateral solution is disagreeable to "progressives" and the internationalist approach is simply increasing the number of bodies on the ground. So the Democratic solution is...is...well, you see the problem here. As Bush is president it is easy to declare anything he does as wrong - were Clinton president the Democrat solution would be either to declare genocide the new standard or to ignore it completely in the name of "peace." No ideas there, just positioning, and spin, and their new buzzword "framing." But no new ideas.
