Man Trying To Get Rid Of Wasps Shoots Boy In Leg
Investigators: Bullet Strays Into Bedroom Where Boy Was Sleeping
PASADENA, Texas -- A man who blasted a wasp's nest with a 12-gauge shotgun was jailed after an errant pellet injured a 5-year-old boy in a nearby apartment, police said.
Romeo Gonzalez, 18, was charged with deadly conduct and is being held in the Harris County Jail.
Pasadena Police Sgt. J.M. Baird said Gonzalez fired the gun to break up a wasp's nest hanging from a tree outside his second-floor apartment in the 3600 block of Shaver shortly after midnight Wednesday. The pellet entered a first-floor apartment and struck David Marban in the thigh.
The boy was hospitalized but is expected to recover.
What the heck?? Is that kid dead or not?
Strange, in this report the boy is said to recover. in the other report it says he was killed
I just read through the other thread, the boy is ok.
Well, at least he did not set his house on fire.
I keep a can of that in my car to ward off any potential carjackers. (Aim for the face.)
Hasn't this guy seen Tommy Boy?
"Bees!! Your weapons are powerless against them!!"
"Also the reporter is a moron. Shotguns don't shoot Bullets."
And he probably paid in-state tuition as well.
He should have used some of his "smoke" on the wasps.
Headlines aren't normally written by the reporter who writes the article -- they're written after the fact by editors. The article itself says "pellets".
There's a funny magazine ad that shows a guy high up on a ladder with a string trimmer getting ready to whack a hornet nest from a house overhang. I'll bet this guy would actually try it.
A CO2 fire extinguisher works great for this. Freezes and suffocates 'em on contact.
Ha! I ran your phrase through a translator and it came out like this:
"Maintain my beer and you watch this"
Excellent idea. I'll add it to this weeks grocery list.
He thought he could SHOOT the wasps?
OK Guys, I'll give you the correct "Spanglish" and it will also 'splain to the Sapnish challenged:
"El holdo my beero and el watcho thiso!"
No. It's easier to wait until early morning before it turns light to nuke them. Works for bees too. Both insects need the sun for navigation and are still warm in the evening and can still buzz a little.
If there is a trial for the guy with the shotgun, THAT's the kind of jury duty I want to get called for!
Yes. From an apartment window. And people were living in another apartment across the street. The cops must have had fun with live ones:)
