In the war on terror, whose side is the NY Times on anyway?
Front Page Mag.com ^ | 6/1/2005 | David Horowitz

Posted on 06/01/2005 11:50:18 AM PDT by Mikmur

Yesterday, in its first post-Memorial Day issue, the New York Times ran a frontpage top of the fold investigative story whose main and indeed sole purpose was to blow the cover on a CIA operation designed to protect this country and its citizens from the terrorist enemy.

While posing as a private charter outfit - "aircraft rental with pilot" is the listing in Dun and Bradstreet - Aero Contractors is in fact a major domestic hub of the Central Intelligence Agency's secret air service.

When the Central Intelligence Agency wants to grab a suspected member of Al Qaeda overseas and deliver him to interrogators in another country, an Aero Contractors plane often does the job. If agency experts need to fly overseas in a hurry after the capture of a prized prisoner, a plane will depart Johnston County and stop at Dulles Airport outside Washington to pick up the C.I.A. team on the way.

An analysis of thousands of flight records, aircraft registrations and corporate documents, as well as interviews with former C.I.A. officers and pilots, show that the agency owns at least 26 planes, 10 of them purchased since 2001. Question: If this is a secret operation that has done no wrong in terms of American laws, why is the Times exposing it? Why has the Times undertaken the task of foreign intelligence agencies and enemies of the United States, both domestic and foreign? Is this now a function of American news media, to expose our own intelligence plans and operations and undermine their effectiveness? The Times has revealed who the CIA's front companies are, the better to track their operations, where the planes take off, what the operations are. Who is interested in this information?

When will the NYT learn that we are watching them now. They cannot just spew their anti-American venom and have it received as the WORD by the American people.

This is a self explanatory question.

In a word, "Yes." The news media are actively trying to undermine our side.

Purely rhetorical.

The irony is that the NYT was in the forefront of those accusing the Bush administration of blowing a CIA agent's cover, and here they are blowing the cover off an entire operation.

I do commend David Horowitz. He does a great work, especially on exposing Liberal bias on college and university campuses.

I watched a fairly decent old movie with Clark Gable in a submarine the other night. A radio broadcast in the sub featured "Tokyo Rose" talking about the war being pointless, and encouraging US troops to go home. I realized that we, as a country, would now have almost the entire journalistic community, a sizable minority in Congress, and a sizable majority of people in blue states that would stand up and defend Tokyo Rose as reasonable dissent. Un-freaking-believable.

The NYT doesn't care how many Americans die, they don't care how many lives are endangered. They will print a story KNOWING it will cause the death of Americans. They'd rather see a million Americans lying dead in the streets than see one Quran picked up in the left hand of a soldier.

RUN SILENT, RUN DEEP with Burt Lancaster as the XO? Great flick.

As for the Times, Horowitz's questions are rhetorical. I would extend their conduct to 95% of the MSM, excluding only the WSJ and the Washington Times. They are only happy when they are hurting the war effort and will only be satisfied when we are all dead.

Liberalism is truly a mental disorder!

"Whose side is the NYT on" is a rhetorical question. Heck, the #2 man in the FBI gives confidential information to the press and takes down a presidency and he is lauded, the reporters are rewarded and the MSM has an orgy! "We have met the enemy......"

I think we need to (a) modify the CIA's charter to allow full domestic ops, and (b) repeal Executive Order 12333.

They will get the word we are watching WHEN WE DO SOMETHING!

Write the NYT letters to the editor also and to their public@nytimes obbudsman site.

In addition to exposing National security secrets and CIA operators (where is Valerie Phlume?)to attack, write them about the exposure of US civilian citizens who use the public county airport to danger if the terrorists should attack the facility. Do you think they will sort out the CIA people from the airport operators and civilian users?
