A fire Wednesday morning destroyed a Lake Travis restaurant famed for the sunset views from its wooden outdoor decks. Officials say a fire of unknown origin swept through the Oasis before dawn today. Fire crews from surrounding areas were still battling flames as dawn broke over the lakeside bluff topped by the burning restaurant.

Damn, been there many times when visiting Austin. Favorite other place is County Line on the river.

The place had the best view and the worst food in Austin. Of course it did but you have to eat when you drink like we did there. Sad to hear the news. Salud.

Mc Closkeys on 6th for prime rib. Is McCloskeys still there? last time I looked in the directory I could not find it.

My sister, a Leander teacher, and her Austin cop husband, will be devastated! This is her favorite place in Travis County.

Beer was cold and the Nochos were not bad.
To: Horn_Dude
That's a shame. Been there a few times. Great place for margaritas and beer and sunsets...

Thank you, maybe misspelling had something to do with not finding it.
