Robbie Gordon of NASCAR Will Not Drive IRL Races Against Danica Patrick, Citing Weight Advantage

Robbie Gordon of NASCAR started the discussion, saying that he wouldn't drive in the Indy Car Racing League series until they do something about Danica Patrick's weight 'advantage.'

'The lighter the car, the faster it goes,' Gordon said. 'Do the math. Put her in the car at her weight, then put me or Tony Stewart in the car at 200 pounds and our cars are at least 100 pounds heavier.'

'I wont race against her until the IRL does something to take that advantage away.'

I glanced at the weight of the weight of the drivers in the Indy Car Series. They are pretty much smallish guys --between 140 and 155 lbs.

He seems to be willing to race against guys who are about 60 pounds less and had no problem with it before.

If she were my daughter, I would be be super proud of not only what she accomplished in her sport, but VERY proud of her beauty and the photo shoots she did.

If she became a porno "star", I would feel more shame than you could imagine. There is a light year of difference between porn and flaunting beauty. It is stupid to make a comparison between beauty/sex appeal, and the slutty world of porn. This is where yellowdoghunter made his error, IMO.

Trying to equate beauty and sexy poses/sexy clothes with porn is as ludicrous as claiming the RATs believe in limited government.

Yes, I bet there is a lot we agree on re social issues. My disagreements with you have always revolved around one core issue, #3 below:

I have always believed that 1] the RATs are anti-American (I know you agree), 2] the Libertarian Party is a party of kooks, mostly over drug use (not sure if you agree, but I am betting you do, and 3] the best way to reclaim our nation is to use the Republcians as a tool to get our agenda through (since they are the only feasible party), and this means applying pressure and showing outrage when they think left and move left and walk away from principles. I viciously attack them when they do this as I feel if we don't, they believe they can move even further left without ramifications from their base.

My disagreements with you have been when I see you defend them when they pull these cave-ins and abandon core Constitutional principles. That has always been the center of our disagremments.

I attack.

You defend the indefensible.

I believe enough outrage shown by the core constituency makes Republicans reconsider their leftist moves.

You have always seem more interested in showing that "the RATs are even worse" as opposed to stopping the Republicans from acting like RATs.

I agree with you about that. I have been a fan for years and when people ask me why I love racing ,when they just don't get it, I tell them to find a driver they feel they can relate to and they will get racing.

So be it.

If it took someone like Danica to get the people there - fine with me. Like I keep saying- She isn't just another pretty face-at least she can race!

Hey I am not that keen on the photos. I don't really enjoy looking at them myself- so I don't. I don't really want my young boys to see them either. I don't think they are for children to see.

But to call her names for taking them is wrong. They are not THAT bad.

If God didn't want those photos seen He would have broken the camera or given the camera man a cramp. :]

God works in mysterious ways. Perhaps God is working thru Danica to spread a message that is not meant for you.

I live in Florida, and on any given day, I see women make much sexier "poses" with far less on when at the beach.

I think you believe her "pose" is a bit too much simply because it is VERY sexy.

I hope Danica lives to be 90 years old. If so, at least she could then think back and remember when she was young, beautiful and sexy, instead of hiding herself in some closet during her youth.

It would be pretty hard to take a beautiful, young and very sexy woman and do 100 different poses where your order them from "OK" to "slutty". Your benchmark where you draw the line at some arbitary number between 1-100 would be different from mine.

With your reasoning, the female contortionist in the circus is "slutty" doing "very slutty poses".

My hubby has no secretary, and I argue the point about being frumpy. I am proud to be a housewife, and my husband is proud of that fact as well.

I find it interesting that being a proud housewife makes me "frumpy." Perhaps says more about you than me.

Somehow, I doubt weight is much of an advantage. If it were, you'd see drivers embrace anorexia like long-lost relatives. Besides, any gain in performance would have to be weighed against a corresponding loss in stamina...

Wild Bill from Dawsonville! hehe. All my friends were huge Earnhardt fans, so I naturally started cheering for Jeff Gordon :) My wife likes Tony Stewart and thinks he should have beefcake photos! I think he is too pudgy haha.

I liked old NASCAR a lot better where Junior didnt get fined for saying a curse word.

Good point and could very well be true. I just know that there used to be a time when taking a picture like that would be shameful......people would call you a slut.....but please note that I said she dresses like a slut, not that she is one.

I used to have season tickets to Texas Motor Speedway, but I decided it's just too long to drive and to short to fly to get there, so I dropped them.

If I lived in that area, though, I'd definitely attend to watch Danica and root for her. She's the best thing that's happened in the IRL for a long time.

Don't have to... what she is wearing doesn't fall under "modest apparel." God has a lot to say in HIS WORD about what people ought to wear. People would rather not read it.

And during that month, she turned in:

• The fastest single practice lap
• The fastest single qualifying lap
• The fastest single lap during carb day

I think that alone merited some attention as someone to watch during the race...
