If you don't want to hurl, don't read the whole article. I just wanted to highlight the lying hypocrisy demonstrated by his obvious glee at what he "had" on tape ("I said I've got something that is potentially bigger than Abu Ghraib... 'F---, I have it.") and his completely contradictory assertion that "I hoped at that moment that it had been anybody else other than me shooting that video tape."

The man is a proven liar. And his 15 minutes of fame are longer over, no matter how many self-congratulatory interviews he gives to the Guardian.

"I hoped at that moment that it had been anybody else other than me shooting that video tape."

Riiiiiiight. You're as big a sack of crap as Bernie Shaw and Peter Arnett. Both of whom refused to be debriefed by OUR military on what they saw from their hotel room in Baghdad on the first night of Desert Storm.

Too bad the Marine missed a chance to shoot another one of the enemy.

This will get worse and worse, and the soldiers will turn their guns on the effin reporters, being the SPIES for the enemy that they are.

And everyone wonders why the military isn't meeting its quota of recruits. Thank God for the ones we get. Every battle is a two front fight.

'This was a f---ing mess, man."

Then he put down his crack pipe, and picked up the phone. "I've got a film that'll get a thousand more Americans killed around the world. Quick! You've got to air it asap! This one will have American blood pouring out into the streets! I can get an award for this!!!"

The man is a proven liar.

At the time did he not say he offered the tape to the CO?

Also, IIRC, there was an article in his hometown paper that claimed the same thing. It is a pathetic rag and I am unable to come up with his name on their site. It is too late to call now, but will in the morning.

Gee he was breathless with excitment over the possibility of putting an American Soldier in prison. you notice he didn't give a rat behind about this " poor innocent murdering terrorist". This is a perfect example of how much the msm HATES America and the American Military. I wonder if he would be as excited if he had caught the terrorist killing that same young soldier.

The media is littered with unprofessional, childish, blood thirsty A holes.

I still say that the sob should have stopped, or at least slowed down,a bullet.

Which side it was on I do not care.

Why the hell did the military let this piece of crap anywhere near the action?

The man is a proven liar.

Sites had no idea whether the wounded jihadi had or had not been planted with explosives or weapons during the 24 hours since he (Sites) had last seen him.

So casting the wounded jihadi as somehow "harmless" or "innocent" was a grievous (and perhaps deadly) distortion from the get-go.

Sites is really a despicable person, and his alleged days as a "war correspondent" are over. He'll never walk with any military unit ever again, anywhere.

This guy's statements should be thrown in the face of Linda Foley. Who is targeting who?

The more the left wing press whines about troops targeting them we really know who is targeting who. Do they think that a Khalifa state will allow freedom of the Press? Guess again. Fools!

"Tanned and muscled, he exudes the genial, unreserved charm that can seem almost de rigueur in southern California."

I'm not even going to comment on this. Do ya think the author may have a bias? Duh! On the other hand this was a grand slam for sites. Become a hero of the left and hurt the true heroes who trusted you and kept you from harm.

When his employer, the NBC network, tried to replace him with a more traditionally telegenic frontman, the marines came to Sites' rescue, saying that it was Sites or nobody. So Sites, with his video camera, went to Falluja and the mosque and one of the biggest stories of the war.

I bet they regretted that decision fairly soon after.

U.S. company of Marines nicknamed "Charly" at work in the north east of Fallujah. After the great attack launched on November 8, 2004, several Marine units have taken position in the whole city. Resistance pockets continue to hassle the U.S. forces who must "clean" the city, house after house. (click for large images) Sites is very lucky he didn't end up like those scum.

Thanks for the update.
I read the title and the name "Kevin Sites" rang a bell.
Now I remember who he is. Is he writing a book? Signed a movie deal?

I remember discussing this with my mom and family at thanksgiving dinner. I told her if I had been that marine I would have put the butt of my rifle right between his eyes. Everyone laughed cause they knew I was serious. All this from a little US gal.
