They always include "contained in Uige" and now adding "under control" both of which are suspect. As for the case count and number of dead neither one is accurate since so many cases are being administratively removed but never re-defined.

It really seems to me that all these ruses are for the Soccer Finals that Angola desperately wants to host.

Yes and it would help if the Marburg news releases were not so controlled by the Angolan government. As for WHO, I find it hard to have much faith in what any U.N. organization has to say.

The WHO said last week the number of infections is tailing off, but new cases are still emerging and any one of them could spark a new crisis.

Dick Thompson, the WHO spokesman for communicable diseases in Geneva, said authorities were receiving three or four alerts a day but have had no new positive cases for several days.

Well which is it? Still emerging or no new cases?

If cases are still emerging then it is NOT under control!

Thanks Judith Anne !!! Appreciate your efforts moving relevent items to this new thread...and all the time you spend keeping it going, many thanks.

Sorry I wasn't on this AM to give that @%*&%#@ my 2 cents too! You certainly didn't need any help, thanks for showing him the door!!!

Glad to hear the WHO has it under control... now I can forget about it! Thats probably what they hope... I don't know, the news is slow (and unreliable) coming out of there, could be true or it could be diversionary on WHOs part...we have heard it all before, it would be an excuse for no more news on marburg...not that there is much anyway.

Good afternoon.

The topic is scary but this thread is the most congenial area in the FreeRepublic.

Many thanks to Judith Anne and the rest of you for your good work.

I don't think we've heard the last of this, by any means.

So I guess the cat will be "out of the bag" after June 5th.

I hadn't thought of that connection nicolezmomma, good job. Quite plausible.
I certainly am not too trusting of their repeated mantra of "it's under control".

IF. IF they don't host and infect everyone who shows up. In that case the cat will wait 5 to 21 days...

You're welcome. I'm looking for someone to post 2ndreconmarine's latest graphs and posts here on this thread, I put a link with post numbers earlier up thread and got one of the graph sets--they'd be excellent to have here early in this thread for reference.

I know. I just don't know what the deal is...anyway, as usual, the MSM is way behind FR on this.

Maybe something gets lost in the translation to English...
According to Mr. Sambo, with the help of the Angolan Ministry of Health the virus has been eradicated.

Interesting that it has been "eradicated" since according to everything I've read, the reservoir for the virus has still not been unidentified. Kind of tough to eradicate when this little point is still with us.

Thank you for the clarification. I agree with your point on just how can they eradicate it. Big hmmmmmm.

What I found most interesting about the article is what it doesn't say.

They mention 350 deaths and 120 cases that are being followed, but notice how for the first time there is no mention of how many cases there have been confirmed to date.

The highest figure I have seen reported to date is 399 total cases in one of the earlier articles posted. I wonder if there was a big jump in the total cases, that they don't want us to know about?

Well, as a veterinarian, I've got a bit of a medical background so hopefully that qualifies me in your eyes for the thread, oh mighty one. I think I can adequately diagnose your problem. It is alimentary, in nature.
