Goldberg's got it right. There was no Deep Throat outside the composite literary device to strengthen the plot and the case against Nixon. The MSM is not asking the family about their financial benefits from books, movie rights, etc., because they need to rescue the credibility of WaPo and Woodward. They will make no effort to unmask this hoax. This is a do or die for liberals who grew up hating Nixon. Else, their sense of self-worth, if not their lives, would be ruined.

The book was much better than the movie. A must read is Len Colodny's Silent Coup. G. Gordon Liddy calls it as close as you'll get to the truth of Watergate.

You and I are in the same frame of reference here.
I have freep mailed a few of the freepers who have been around more 4 years re how many times the liberals trot Watergate out when they or the Clintoons are about to get into trouble to divert the attention.
