Aye, but to be honest, I thought that Felt as Deep Throat was too good to be true.

Woodward and Bernstein's Watergate reporting will never stand up to History now that Felt is their admitted Deep Throat. How will they explain their lies about Deep Throat being a White House insider, drinking scotch, chain smoking, being a snitch out of "idealism," as well as their claim that Deep Throat wasn't in a position to arrest anyone?!

How will Woodward and Bernstein explain their belief that Colson should go to jail for leaking one FBI file, while simultaneously protecting Felt for leaking scores of FBI file information?!

Their reputation was shattered today, even if the shock waves haven't hit the news media quite yet.

Indeed. If you accept at face value what we've been told, then Felt was engaged in open treason...because Deep Throat knew about the 18 minute gap on Nixon's secret White House tapes...something that you'd have to listen to those tapes to find out. So Felt was spying on the White House without a warrant.

When it's all said and done, the FBI will be shown to have their hands all over Ellsberg's leaking of the Pentagon Papers...the break-in of Ellsberg's shrink's office set off the whole Watergate wiretapping affair, after all.

In short, the FBI subverted the U.S. war effort in Vietnam via Ellsberg and Felt.
