Well, if whites can't get into the National Association of Black Social Workers, then blacks shouldn't be allowed into the National Association of White Soc ... oh.wait. Right. That'd be racist.

The guy should have saved himself a lot of trouble when asked if he were black; he should have simply met the fellow's gaze and simply answered "Yes, I am black."

Sorry .. I wasn't commenting on the meeting .. I was commenting on the fact there are black only bars and restaurants. While I'm not shocked .. it's just a sad commentary.
They never did really want equality. They want revenge.
It would be confusing if it weren't so common and accepted.

Sounds a little like certain country clubs of yesteryear. Personally, I'd be happy to take my money elsewhere.

I've made a similar argument with liberal coworkers as they drag me into their open office tirades...I mean, discussions. They don't refute my logic, just quickly sniff indignantly and give each other knowing looks of 'solidarity', as if they can't believe you 'don't get it'.
If one truly has the courage to discuss the issue, you soon find there is NO logical or intellectual basis for their view. It's all about feeeeelings.
Do The Right Thing was basically Lee's incitement for the black community to riot,ridicule,and tear down white people at any cost.
He is a cancer to society. I used to dig that film as a kid for the dialouge but as I became an adult I just want to vomit on people like Spike Lee.
If somebody one white parent and one black parent does that make them "black".?.
The only Lee film I like is The 25th Hour. A friend has worked with him and says he's much less incendiary in person, but that only tells me what a BS-er he is--it doesn't surprise me that even HE doesn't believe the racist crap he shovels.
