I've made a similar argument with liberal coworkers as they drag me into their open office tirades...I mean, discussions. They don't refute my logic, just quickly sniff indignantly and give each other knowing looks of 'solidarity', as if they can't believe you 'don't get it'.
If one truly has the courage to discuss the issue, you soon find there is NO logical or intellectual basis for their view. It's all about feeeeelings.
