LOS ANGELES - Nine Inch Nails dropped out of the MTV Movie Awards after clashing with the network over an image of President Bush the band planned as a performance backdrop.
The Bush image was to accompany the song "The Hand That Feeds," which obliquely criticizes the Iraq war. It includes the lyrics: "What if this whole crusade's a charade / And behind it all there's a price to be paid / For the blood on which we dine / Justified in the name of the holy and the divine."

I have thought for some time that MTV had lost all it's morals. Alas! They show that they have some morality that was left in the corner of the storage room at the warehouse. I just may have to open the door for their responsiveness, after all.

They show that they have some morality that was left in the corner of the storage room at the warehouse.Or, more likely, they fear the potential backlash.

Oh no.... the bastion of intellect and morality that is "NINE INCH NAILS" has found a soapbox.
It'd be like Eminem speaking on 'sensativity'...
Pfft.....
Fun sidenote... Tren Reznor of NINE INCH NAILS has been facinated and enamored by id software's "Doom" PC Game franchize. He even did the sound track to the origianl back in '93. Very gory, set in HELL, all kinds of anarchist and satanic imagry everywhere.
Its a FUN game, but I think it just give a 'lil insight into his twisted point of view and self-loathing life. (ie the same motivation for the song/background)

John McCain stated several years ago that NIN was one of his favorite bands. Now I see why.

I think MTV is started to percieve that they are 100% expendable from the cable line up.
This only means the pressure is not strong enough. They should never have even INVITED 9in.nails to play the stated song.
I think ALL of the MTV channels should be extra paid channels seperate from any basic package.

Since when did MTV have anything to do with music?
Come on, it became prepubescent trash long ago.

You mean MTV is about music? I thought it was about social engineering and moronic reality TV programs.

Great Point, Maybe there should be a thread listing the many things that will be lost if the muslims win. Hillary will definitely be taken care of.

I don't think it was morality so much as cowardly fear. They still feel the same way and promote the same agenda to morally devastate America. They're just afraid of the backlash they know they deserve a million-fold.
