Joel Steinberg is feeling quite at home in Harlem....
Steinberg, convicted of beating to death his 6-year- old adopted daughter, Lisa, in 1989......recently held a job installing floors, but quit after injuring his knee......
...........an angry and unrepentant Steinberg spoke to The Post on the steps of the Civic Association Serving Harlem (CASH), a job-training program across from his home where he volunteers.
Maintaining his innocence, he also points to Lisa's death certificate, which he says "said she . . . choked on her own vomit."
Steinberg, a disbarred lawyer, was released from prison on June 30 last year after serving nearly 17 years for first-degree manslaughter.
He lived in a Harlem halfway house until August, when he was kicked out for talking to the press. After that, he spent at least several nights at a Times Square hotel.
Ravel, a neighbor.....said Steinberg has served his time and should be left alone. "He's obviously got something psychologically wrong," he said. "But his wife was just as bad and nobody bothers her."
He was referring to Hedda Nussbaum, Steinberg's longtime companion and Lisa's adoptive mother, who accused Steinberg of beating her, and who was present at the time of Lisa's death.
The attitude toward Steinberg's presence in the neighborhood was much different .....half a block from his apartment, where a playground was full of children.
"Maybe he sees Harlem as a hideout," said Monica Johnson, whose daughter Amber, 11, played nearby. "It's a travesty, really. With these laws now, where they have to let you know when a child molester lives close, they should do the same with child abusers."

The NY Post should have reported that Steinberg took the little girl from her single birth mother, promising her he would find loving adoptive parents for Lisa.
Instead little Lisa ended up on a dead-end street with this depraved excuse for a human being and his lowlife live-in Hedda Nussbaum.
Both of these monsters left Lisa alone for hours---beaten, and dying on a cold bathroom floor.
Maybe Steinberg can get a paid job working in Bill Clinton's Harlem office.
I can't believe this POS and his wife are out and walking around. I remember this and the beautiful child he and Hedda killed. The guy is a monster.

I was in grade school when it happened but even then I thought Hedda was a fruitcake (sorry to insult good fruitcakes!).
The Liberal Mainstream Media is IGNORING this story because the death of children doesn't faze them at all. If you can toleration abortions, you can tolerate this.
Why dont' liberals want the DEATH PENALTY for this guy?

I remember seeing pictures of Hedda Nussbaum as a ghastly, black and blue skeleton. Wasn't Joel beating her, also?
You couldn't be more wrong! At least daily I read in liberal rags how US soldiers are responsible for the deaths of Iraqui and Afgani children. During Sadam's economic embargo the US was responsible for starving thousands of children. I could go on and on...
I always thought Hedda Nusbaum looked like a mistake at the recombinant DNA lab. And Steinberg is nothing but a lumpy coward.
Hey, that's right. Clinton and Steinberg have at least two, no four things in common. Both are liars, abusers, like cocaine, and live off the public dol. Plus all those Arkancide deaths, and threats to women too numerous to count. Rape, too.
I will NEVER forget this case. If there are degrees in hell, Steinberg should get the nth.
