Fifty-six percent (56%) of Americans say they followed the news story somewhat or very closely.

That's the most unbelievable thing I have read in a while!

I don't believe that either. I don't think that many people could even define the term, much less have an opinion on it.

It always happens, there's an industry term for it but I forget. Recall all those polls that say 60% or another ridiculous percentage claim to have watched the SuperBowl, Presidential debates, Seinfield finale, etc when in reality the TV networks claim only 30% viewership. People lie because they don't want to be perceived as being out of touch.

My guess is it's more like 5.6%.

I agree that this does sound a little high, but if true, that would account for the Gallup poll that found 69& thought filibustering judges was wrong. That can only come about if people are relatively informed about the subject, I think.

This poll is just surprising everyone with its ability to demonstrate the general stupidity of the publicly-educated masses.

29% of voters believe the GOP got the better end of it. Just 21% think the Democrats came out ahead, while 28% said neither party won.

1) I don't buy that 56% followed the story at all. I bet these questions were asked in exactly that way, "Have you been following the filibuster?" The questions should have been, who was the Rat senate leader and who was the Pubbie leader? Then they'd have a clue who REALLY knew WTF was going on.

2) I don't see a darn thing indicating where they stood BEFORE the deal, which would be a much better indicator of who actually thinks the GOP came out ahead because they ALWAYS think the GOP comes out ahead, or whether this pack of idiots is simply regurgitating the MSM or party line.
