Well said Blurblogger. I was talking to one of our local Souther Baptist "Hellfire and Brimstone" preachers a few days ago and venting about the war against the evil in our midst. Coincidentally, his reminder that this is not a battle against flesh and blood but against the evil one himself; that we cannot win this battle on our own, refocused my efforts.

Calling upon almighty God(and bashing a few liberal heads along the way), is the only way we can emerge triumphant.

There is a certain amount of pride in thinking we are strong enough to do battle against the minions of satan. I was caught up in it myself. When all I have to do is ask for His help. It lowers the frustration level and reduces the blood pressure also ;^)

It also guarantees us a win.

A message worthy of repeating to certain people who shall remain nameless. We are all in this together, folks! Dividing ourselves into Constitution Party and regular GOP factions is what THEY want.

Good rant Blur. Pissed off? Mad as Hell? Yep.

In my garage, over my workbench, hangs a copy of The Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Below them is my Bible. I read my Bible first then The Bill of Rights and finally The Constitution. Nothing else matters. I will defend all three unto death.

Stay strong and stay prepared.

Have you tried getting involved in the Republican party? In most areas people have to be begged to become precinct chairmen.

I used to recruit county chairmen in a twenty county district. It took several years to find someone willing to serve as Republican County Chairman in a couple counties.

But when a person calls a Congressman or Senator and says "I'm the Republican county chairman of ____ county, and I need to talk to the Congressman", he doesn't simply get shifted to some teenage intern.

When a person writes a letter on letterhead that reads "CHAIRMAN, REPUBLICAN PARTY OF _____ COUNTY", he gets more than a form letter reply.

The downside? There's lots of work recruiting and training precinct chairmen, writing press releases, giving interviews, arraigning local appearances for state-wide candidates, recruiting people to run for county offices.....

It's a lot easier just to sit and complain about "those Republicans."

And Blur, I've been considering getting back into the political fray. I was a smaller-time elected public official, and have been asked by my Congressman Kirk about possibly be balloted for a spot. I'm a thinkin'.

Ken Blackwell for Governor of Ohio.
That's a start.
If we want change, we have to change from within (our own party) and take out the RINOs and send them packing home.
Toomey fought a good fight.
He can be our example.

I normally despise vanities, but I think I agree w/ everything you said. Especially about the need to take action in our own lives, influence people we know. Getting your friends involved is more productive than sending the 1,000th email to Bill Frist or whomever. Bold fonts, caps and flame don't change votes.

Time for the amen corner to start putting faith into action.

You're preaching to the choir around these parts. The biggest problem you have is something the politicians themselves have caused, and that is a disconnect from the voters.

We keep screaming and hollering out here along the fruited plain, the politicians continue to do the stupidity we keep yelling for them to quit doing. They apparently aren't listening to the calls, voicemail, reading their faxes, or e-mail. Cutting off funding to the GOP is counterproductive, because if enough of us do that, it will put the Democrats at a distinct advantage financially.

Your sentiment is shared.  I started my assaults in the 70's.  We're getting impatient as we haven't this much 'worthless' power before.  Rush has been trumpeting correctly that republicans know how to fight uphill but don't know how to handle this same elected power.

Remind yourself that although we may be losing battles, a lot of them, we've been the winning the war over the last 40 years and it is just getting started.

The enemy is not dems, they are already dead.  The enemy is our own weakness.

YES -- I am FURIOUS, that Senator Frist hasn't yet learned how to play the strongarm negotiation tactics necessary to herd the wildcat narcissists like McCain and a few of the conservative Democrats into line. (I think Frist can still redeem himself--if and only if he REALLY GETS MAD)

Frist is fine .. he did the right thing in calling the cloture for Bolton

It's now on record .. Reid and Lieberman went back on their word of honor .. the Dem Party look like obstructionist and the Gang of 7 look like fools

McCain and his gang .. they ticked off the wrong people

Republicans have looooooooooooong memories and they won't forget

And if some do .. many will remind them
