WASHINGTON (AP) -- Democrats said they hoped the Senate's vote to delay confirmation of John R. Bolton as U.N. ambassador would force the White House to release long-sought classified information about the embattled nominee, or perhaps to pick someone else for the job.

Thanks, Frist. When I want a total wimp, I'll know who to call.

all i'm saying is give them some papers, black out what you don't want them to seeThe information was already provided with some names blacked out. That's what they've been complaining about. Have you actually been paying attention?
You're the one that need's to get a clue.

Plus, Bolton has already been approved by the Senate
four times in his career for other positions. Suddenly now we need all this digging into the minutia of memos etc? Rank hypocrisy and nothing more than stalling and obstructionism.
I would so dearly love to see Biden ushered out of the Senate like Tiny Tom was. He will then have to stand on a street corner in Wilmington and speak to passers-by to have an audience!

All he has to do is have Cheney show up next week unannounced, sit in the chair, pull the same parliamentary move as before and force a vote only on Bolton. W won't allow that.
To: Wally_Kalbacken
- Bush should just leave the seat open, or even close the UN mission until Bolton is confirmed. I like it. No chance with GW. He put Frist in his inept spot.

lets be reasonable here, those other positions were positions where there is little individual power, and where the president has the right to appoint basically whoever he wants no matter what. This is a major position, so you cant expect for us to get out of this without a fight. I say just give them the documents, they wont leak it because then they could be indicted. Then we will have a vote and win it 51-49 or thereabouts

I say just give them the documents, they wont leak it because then they could be indicted.Isn't one logon name enough? You have to spout the same stuff under two different ones?
The information has already been given with the names blacked out.
What is it you don't get about that?

regardless of the RATs obvious ploy here, i think if a senate committee requests some documents they should be given them, what's the big deal?
I think if the White House requests some private documents from senate committee minority members so the White House can fully understand the committee's objections as stated by minority committee members in these private communications. They should hand these private communications over to the White house, what's the big deal?
if the whitehouse gives them the papers, then they can vote, problem solved.
If the senate minority members gives the White House their private papers the White House will understand the reasoning behind the minority objections, in turn give them the White House papers, then they can vote, problem solved.
