Every American serviceman I've ever met only has one complaint about Canadian soldiers: They wish we could send more. Underfunded, undermanned, ill-equipped, unrespected at home but the best fighting men in the world nonetheless.
Anyway, it is a step up from the Ross rifle.
The Canadian government in the last couple of decades has done nothing but spit on Canada's fine military heritage. It's a testament to the fortitude of the average Canadian soldier that they perform so well with so little support from the government.
I agree. During the Mulroney years there was some hope (getting rid of the green Air Force uniforms sure helped) but once the Libs got back in it was game over.

I reckon this is the replacement rifle. http://www.sfu.ca/casr/101-mrsws.htm
I have to wonder what this thing weighs. 17-20 lbs?
With all the titanium and synthetics, probably about 15-17lbs.
Recoil might be a bit of a problem.
Shoot down airplanes.
After all, according to the gun control advocates, thats what they're for.
Our government's support of the military ... DON'T get me started!
Maybe the sport will up the caliber from the .22 to give atheletes a better chance of survival from
meateating animals they are likely to meet while skiing in the woods.
