It makes no sense on the face of it. Voinovich is clearly a man who is racked by guilt and self-loathing. Somebody's got something but good on him. He really should retire from the Senate immediately.
Same thought here. As if someone was going to do something horrible to him if Bolton gets confirmed. Like a scene from "The Sopranos"...
You are right! This indecent spectacle demonstrates the sordid politcal corruption in the beltway. Somebody has the goods on him....the mafia perhaps. Maybe the other mafia prncess Nancy "no blink" Pelosi might know something about this latest spectacle.
You mean he was crying as though his life really did depend on it? Could be, knowing what the international mafia can do.
Jeff, well-said, friend.
I think you may be right on with that. Sad.
In a sworn deposition, Vincent Panichi, the governor's 1994 campaign treasurer, told investigators that he was present at a meeting when the governor authorized an allegedly illegal reimbursement to his brother's company and former Columbus lobbyist Anthony Fabiano for Waste Technologies Industries (WTI) for hiring labor leader Ray Gallagher, a Voinovich partisan. Allegedly, the money was to be laundered through a third party, the political firm of Mamais & Associates.
On May 7, 1997, FBI and IRS agents raided Fabiano's Columbus office and seized his files and financial records as part of a secret grand jury investigation in Hamilton County.
