City Council Passes "Potty Parity" Bill

Many new and renovated buildings in New York City will be required to have twice as many restrooms for women as men under ``potty parity'' legislation passed by the City Council.
The Women's Restroom Equity Bill, which won unanimous support in a vote Wednesday, revises a 1984 law requiring just one women's bathroom for every men's restroom. It is meant to ease women's notoriously long waits for public restrooms.
``When we talk about women and their quality of life, one thing that everyone has sort of turned a blind eye to has been our ability to utilize public facilities in a timely manner,'' said Councilwoman Yvette Clarke, the bill's chief sponsor.

Men go in and get out plus we can do it standing up so sue a woman... sue mother nature...hell most guys dont even bother washing hands(yuck)...women go in there and start yakking and talking bout the kids and whose doing who on young and the restless
I think you can also turn the bathrooms you have into unisex ones. In other words, one men's and one women's becomes two unisex ones. Guess men will have to learn to wait in line too!

I had one girlfriend who used to take off her pants and underware and set them aside and do her bizness and get cleaned up and put everything back on...she would go in bout 2 and get out bout 6
Yes! Good idea! Anyone that has attended a special event where a multide of people are present knows that the womens restroom always has a line and mens restroom doesn't. Women need to design womens restrooms and men design mens restrooms. Men restrooms have urinals and several stalls. Women restrooms only have several stalls (and all you male FReepers don't even think about giving us anything different). Plus, women wear more clothes than men and takes longer time to finish.
We don't actually - there's not enough room and too many women want to wash their hands. Usually it's just in and out as quickly as possible. What you underestimate is that women don't just zip and go. We have to undo and redo layers of clothing. Many women have to take children in with them as well and help them use the facilities. Frequently it's not just a women's room, but a family room as well.
Actually, all they have to do is declare women handicapped because they can't pee standing up.
