"Go play with your other self important wanna bees in the Reform/Constitution sand box and leave the heavy lifting to the adults."
A presidential election or two from now, you may well find that the 'adults' number so few that no such lifting will happen. Either Republicans will start listening to conservatives, or it will implode and be replaced by a party that does.

I agree...but those are current expectation of our society. But we must change those expectations from the bottom up, not the top down or we'll be no better than they are and our "wins" will be incredibly fragile.

This should be a good time to be a Republican.
How come I don't feel good?

People are striking out because the truth hurts.
I know it bugs the ____ out of me. We had a chance here to vote a great guy into the senate, Herman Cain, but nooo-ooo-ooo. Let's go with the 30 year political career hack, "he knows how to work in DC". Maybe we need more that don't play the games there.
I'm on my county steering committee, and one of our members actually said smoking should be made illegal. Meanwhile, the dem run county commission is grabbing power left and right. Makes me want to throw my hands up when it goes all the way to the grassroots.

Liberals do seem to write the history books, don't they.

Looks like we have a real drawn out battle here. Is this the final showdown of the True Conservatives vs the Blind Partisans? Nation Building, Winning their Hearts and Minds, Big Government. One day Neo-cons will realize they are just Liberals with morals and values.

IMO...Partly because we just had an ugly defeat that we dealt ourselves, partly because we are impatient and partly because IT IS MUCH HARDER TO BE IN CHARGE! Back benching is so much easier. We can always be right without it being tested in any significant way.
To: Bob Ireland
Bob, isn't there an old saying that states: don't take the actions of a few as the actions of the rest. or something along those lines?
Of course we need to clean up the party, that has been proven. your statement I hope, is just out of frustration of those few.
To: Bob Ireland
My error if I implied that.
My main point in posting is to take my hats off to you by publishing a thread that makes people ponder and reflect.
And as I said, some of the things Bush has done (like fiscal social spending) has been THE WORST of any president--that is factual and documented through the OMB and historical budget tables.

Who wrote this dribble? This is nothing more than hyperbole from the far left. The withdrawals from not being in power must be getting worse or was this Pat Buchanan under a surname? I will discuss and debate with anyone on any given subject but this is totally ridiculous!
Thanks

Either Republicans will start listening to conservatives, or it will implode and be replaced by a party that does. About as likely as the Green party knocking out the Democrats. Next to zero.

Ireland is right, I am sick of voting for Republicans and getting moderate Dems instead. It seems the only thing dubya is standing ground on is terrorism and illegal immigration.
