D.C Chapter Doubleheader v. Code Pink this Friday, May 27, 2005
May 25, 2005

Posted on 05/25/2005 8:12:32 AM PDT by tgslTakoma

On Friday the DC Chapter of Free Republic invites all Freepers and lurkers in good standing to join us as we play a doubleheader against the moonbats of the left, Code Pink and DAWN (DC Anti-War Network).

Our first Freep will be in support of the men and women in our military, at the U.S. Armed Forces Recruiting Center in lower Silver Spring, MD, beginning at 4pm and continue until 7pm. In their continuing campaign to undermine our efforts to win the war on terrorism, Code Pink and DAWN are targeting yet another military recruitment center, this time in MD.

The second event is Round VII of our counterprotest of Code Pink's disgusting blood dance outside the main gates at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where our most severely wounded soldiers are being treated for their injuries. This event will begin at 7:30pm and continue through 10pm.

All Freepers and lurkers in good standing are invited to begin their Memorial Day weekend with us on Friday, in this double show of support for the men and women who wear our country's uniform in our defense, some having paid the ultimate price with their life and limb.

Here's the important stuff:

Event One

WHERE:US Armed Forces Recruiting Center
8202 Georgia Avenue
Silver Spring, MD
(nearest cross street-Silver Spring Avenue)
WHEN: 4pm until 7pm

Event Two

WHERE: Outside the gates of Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue, NW
Washington, DC
Meet us on the northeast corner of Georgia Ave. and Elder Street. This is across from WRAMC gate.
(The leftists hold their blood dance across from our location, on the hospital side of the street.)
WHEN:7:30pm until 10pm.

What to bring, for both events:
Flags, signs with messages of support for our military, the mission, etc., strong voices, water, snacks.

Note regarding the Maryland Freep. Montgomery County Police have informed me that our signs "can not be mounted on any type of wood or hard surface to support the sign. Basically you need to hold them in your hands."

DC rules are different, signs on sticks, etc. are OK there.

Between events one and two, we will take time for a quick supper somewhere nearby. That information will be decided on-scene.

As usual, the DC Chapter's rules for protesting apply. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

BufordP and I will be there, but might not make it to the event 'til 4:30 or so. Traffic is likely to be very bad.
