Let McCain know what YOU think (McCain disappoints conservatives)

Yesterday we were within a few hours of a historic vote to allow the U.S. Senate to exercise its constitutional option to confirm judges by majority vote. That vote would have allowed all pending nominees and future Supreme Court nominees to receive an "up or down" vote, and paved the way for President Bush to more effectively restore the judiciary to its proper constitutional role by appointing to the federal bench judges who are not activists.

The votes were there to pass it. But today, in exchange for allowing a few judges to receive full votes, seven Republicans betrayed their colleagues and Majority Leader Frist and sacrificed the principle that the filibuster should not be used to block judicial nominees - a Senate tradition in place for more than 200 years. Remember Justice Clarence Thomas? He was confirmed by a vote of 52-48 while Democrats controlled the Senate, just 14 years ago! Why wasn't he filibustered?

Because to filibuster a judicial nominee was unthinkable to Democrats 14 years ago. This "deal" is a disaster and a sell-out of the "values voters" who believed Republican promises that reigning in an out-of-control judiciary was their top priority. Conservative senators and national leaders are outraged.

If you are disappointed in Sen. McCain's role in facilitating this decision to snatch defeat and compromise from the jaws of victory, please call him at 202-224-2235 or email him at john_ mccain@mccain.senate.gov and let him know how you feel.

McVain skated on the recall, last year not one republican would step up, and run against him in the primary, he was re-elected, that reinforces that he can do anything he wants, and there will be no price to pay for his antics.

He could care less what we think, objections to his insane antics, just encourages the ego-maniac. I won't waste my time building his ego.

And some how they put a Democrat, Communist, Marxist Computer chip in is brain while he was in the POW Hilton.
This guy is a Traitor, that stupid law controlling campaign contributions is as anti-American as you can get. My Congressman Sam Johnson took the same POW kind of abuse and is a staunch Conservative, what happened to McCain?

"I'm afraid I'll have to call you on that point. He was a POW and EARNED every promotion and award that he got in/from Vietnam. As a Senior Ranking Officer in the POW camp he comported himself most admirably and valorously. Pick on his politics and ego as a politician, (Lord knows I and many Vets do) but please, not his patriotism by stooping to DU level calling him a traitor."

I am mad as hell but I must say I concur with the above. He is a legit hero, the real deal. But he needs to out of the Republican party. And if possible, out of the Senate.

OK, I do not disreagard his loyalty to this nation or his service. His intelligence I do have to question. He really needs to get a grip if he wants to call himself a "Republican".

McCain could care less what conservatives think -- McCain listens to McCain and no one else -- he is arrogant, self centered, and sold out Republicans and I have no doubt if it suited his purpose, he would sell out the Country -- don't trust him and refuse to waste any time on McLame except to work to defeat him for the Republican nomination. I will spend every spare minute to defeat McLame and in turn, his McLemmings on here that support him for President.

In the last election I couldn't cast my ballot for him so I wrote my own name in.

I'm afraid that I must take umbrage with your use of the word traitor towards him. Reserve that word for Jane Fonda and her ilk if you please; that organized, advanced, and supported the Vietnam Vets Against the War.

That's why when he last stood for election I wrote in my name on the ballot.

McCain doesn't care what voters think (he has much said so as did Lindsey Graham). He only cares about what people like Crissy Matthews, Don Imus, Timmy Russert, etc. think.

I wouldn't vote for McCain if he was the only person running. Maybe he forgot that the squishy middle only vote if it's convenient for them and they aren't doing anything else that day. "Right-wing extremist nuts" will crawl to the voting booth.

It's not about how he served his time in Viet Namn; it's about what he is doing to his country now.
