Don't lose two good officers to what is politically correct.
Give them some kind of demeaning extra duty to let them know they have a deeper comittment to their sworn duty which always supercedes all choices to satisfy selfish desires.
In other words get a life, grow up and be responsible to your sworn oath!
Well said.
"Boys will be boys."?
They are not boys. They are men, and we want our officers to conduct themselves as such.
And how do you know they're "good officers"? Being an officer doesn't automatically make you good. It would seem to me that they are not. The article doesn't even tell us whether or not they were intoxicated at the time.
The officers, among other things, are required to keep the peace. And yet, they were the ones creating a disturbance, which also involved an altercation with police officers. No respect for the "badge".
Would I want those officers in my neighborhood? No. I say fire them. They don't deserve to wear a uniform.
