The deployment of 36,000 National Guard troops or state militia on the U.S.-Mexico border would stop the illegal flow of foreigners into America, says a congressional report that credits the Minuteman Project with proving that additional manpower could "dramatically reduce if not virtually eliminate" illegal immigration.

The Federal government has failed, under administraitons from both parties (therefore it is the level of government and not the political affiliation of any particular administration), to enforce our very reasonable border controls. It is time to get the Federal government out of the process and simply turn border control over to the States. And, just to make sure the Feds don't interfere with the implementation of the law, Federal bases should probably be removed from border states (or turned over to the states).

Do you have a url for finding the actual report?

The problem here is that the NG and reserves are not supposed to be recalled "permanently."
How long are you going to keep them there, and who's going to replace them
