This is the crux of the article and the only thing that needs be said.
The ACLU was among the first to adopt the "Let's use the Free Society's basic principles as weapons to destroy it". A perfect example of the Communist belief that "Capitalism will sell us the rope with which to hang them". That the U.S. was the most successful capitalist society was strictly coincidental.
Today, as we speak, both the ACLU and the SMs* continue to use our most chrished principles as weapons against ourselves.

Until they gain power, when the death penalty will be imposed for everything--such as exercising free speech and the civil liberties we used to have under the Constitution.
Something interesting I discovered in my search for their "policy statement" is that they have a FORUM on their website (see links along the bottom of their home page), and the forum has a LOT of anti-ACLU members arguing with pro-ACLU members. Pretty interesting that they allow free expression on their website!!
