Because my gut likes and trusts her. There is noone else on the scene that my gut instinctively trusts. I firmly believe that if she could say what she really thought, she would kick butt and take names, whereas she is currently chained to her boss's "let's not offend anyone" namby-pamby-ism.

Forgive me if this is rude, but that's exactly what I was talking about. Most of those that enthusiastically support the idea of her running for president "just like her". She may be the perfect person to run for president - my point is that we should make such a decision based on how well the candidate represents our beliefs.

No the best move is president Not VP. She has incredible experience. For a number of reasons she will be the most qualified. She is self made. AND is exactly what is hated most by the democrats.

She would be great as VP or POTUS. Electorally speaking whoever selects her as a #2 will get a bog boost.

"Not all Christians define "sanctity of life" the same way you do. For Condi and the Bushes, I'm sure there's nothing that needs "reconciling" -- their beliefs (at least re abortion, etc) are consistent with the positions of the churches they are affiliated with."

The Bushes say they are pro-life, but the United Methodist Church denomination they are affiliated with is a radically leftist denomination that promotes abortion. More so, the church promotes and conducts abortion marches with the likes of the ACLU communists, NARAL abortionists, and NOW feminist. Nope, nothing for the pro-life Bushes to reconcile there. I suppose that is just the duplicity of politics. I should know better. As their spokesperson, what say you?

Perhaps you missed this part in the link I provided.

"What do the American Civil Liberties Union, the Episcopal Church USA, Planned Parenthood of America, the Presbyterian Church (USA), the National Organization for Women, and the United Methodist Board of Church and Society all have in common? Answer: Each is either an organizer or an endorser of Sunday's pro-abortion rights "March for Women's Lives" in Washington, DC."

http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/4/afa/232004a.asp#

Notable UMC infamy (not that anyone cares):

In 1992 the UMC Commission on Christian Unity and Interreligious Concerns declared itself open to the full participation of all people, including gays and lesbians, and the top judicial body of the UMC ruled that the agency was within its rights to make such a declaration.

At its 1984 national governing board meeting, UMC bishops called on America to disarm itself. "Unless we can abolish war, the chances are there will not be any world left for us to reform ... Christian conscience demands total disarmament by disbanding armies, navies and air forces over the face of the earth." In 1986 the UMC bishops issued a pastoral letter titled "In Defense of Creation and a Just Peace" which opposed maintaining a nuclear deterrence and called the possession of nuclear arms idolatry.

At its 1972 General Conference the UMC called for the legalization of abortion. The UMC was a founding member of the Religious Coalition for Abortion Rights, which sought "to encourage and coordinate support for safeguarding the legal option of abortion." In one year the Methodist Board of Church and Society contributed more than $400,000 to the abortion rights coalition. The UMC came out in support of the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision which legalized abortion in the United States.

Don't take my criticisms wrong. I like the Bushs a lot. I thank God everyday that he is president. I've trusted him with my son's life; who is in Baghdad. It's hypocrisy that I am very cautious of. It is indicative of a lack of trustworthiness.

And that is what bothers me about the Bushes and their religious affiliation - the incongruence's there in what I otherwise believe to be people of integrity. I am perplexed by it. Maybe I'm just naive.

In any case, I will continue to report the facts - you decide what they mean.

I think everyone here is jumping the gun. 2008 is still a ways away, and the landscape will certainly change by then.

Check this out. What if by the time 2008 rolls around, Roe v. Wade is thrown out, and the matter returns to the states. Under this plausible scenario, will abortion then be a hot-button issue in the 2008 campaign? I ask this as a strong pro-lifer, for full disclosure.

If Roe V Wade is tossed out, I'll be estatic. I do not expect that to happen, but it'll be great.

Assuming that happens, I think the issue will be big, since many will be pushing for a complete federal ban. I prefer all states banning because of 10th amendment grounds, but everything is federal nowadays, and that's also where most of the heat is placed.

I think it is a political mistake to choose her as #2. She has more domestic and international experience than most candidates in the last 40 years. If there is a person that has earned the right to go for the top spot it is her. Her election as president of the united states of america will put the final dagger in the heart of the democratic party. They will be left to muddle among themselves and be regarded as the crazy aunt at the family reunion.

I do. All it will take is a court that's willing to uphold the constitution

Fat chance.

A court that upholds the Constitution will reverse Roe vs, Wade and allow the states to resume enforcing their abortion laws.

Those states that have not legalized abortion already will do so within 30 days.

Getting 75% of the States on board with that may be a tall order. Thirteen States voting against that Amendment will kill it, and that may take years to pass even if it does go through.

New York, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Illinois, California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington are my picks to vote against it. Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and Michigan are the wildcards. That's 16 right there. A federal ban will take an Herculean effort. It's worth it, but I don't know if it is attainable.

Nice thought, but unless abortion is unequivocally banned by a constitutional amendment (or a civil war), I doubt anyone alive today will ever forget how easily abortion could become a "right". Nothing resolved by court decision is ever really final.

Abortion is pre-meditated murder. But you better keep your powder dry. I've listed above a number of States that would sink an Amendment. Throwing out Roe may be the best we can get. Without bloodshed, of course.

You've read my mind...George Allen and Condi...8 years of him and then 8 years of her!...the END of the DemonRats in the USA...that's not too much to ask is it???

There is nothing as serious as the '06 and '08 elections.
Hillary must be put down like the rabid dog she is...Dean, Gore and the rest of their traitorous ilk have no business leading this country.

Mark my words, the MSM has Hitliary all but measuring curtains for the Oval Office her husband desicrated...they/she/it must be put down in '06 by refusing to re-elect her to the US Senate from NY. I can only hope the people of NY will wise up!

I don't know why you assume the states would jump to legalize abortion. They'd have to pass it in their legislatures or by referendum. Prior to Row v. Wade, 33 state legislatures voted against permitting abortion for any reason except to save the mother’s life.

There will be some states that allow abortion in it's present form, but not many.
