==================================================================

NOTE: This is the 11th episode in a series of stories regarding the events surrounding Hillary Clinton’s 2000 Hollywood fundraiser, and the business relationship of entrepreneur Peter Paul, the impeached William Jefferson Clinton, and Hillary Rodham Clinton, perpetrator of the largest campaign finance fraud in the history of Western civilization.

You might think this episode is a spoof, but I assure you that it is not. It represents the arrogance, the essence, indeed the hubris of the junior senator from New York, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

When someone wants to visit the President, the Secret Service must check out that person. It is called vetting. They want to know the background of the person who wants to meet with the leader of the FreeWorld. Before meeting with the President and first lady, Peter Paul had been vetted about six times. It seems that the first couple should have known at least a little about him.

Paul didn't just meet with the Clintons. He worked with them over several months. He hosted and attended a luncheon at Spago and a tea at a private residence with Hillary and a hundred fifty other Hollywood luminaries. He sat for hours with her at lunch and at the tea. And then he sat for hours with Bill and Hillary at the concert and dinner.

Yes, the Secret Service better have checked out Paul thoroughly. As an aside, some of you may remember that seated behind the Clintons at the concert was illegal foreign donor, Tendo Oto, whose 27K was neither declared nor returned.

At the Spago luncheon, hosted and funded by Paul, he and his wife each gave Hillary a $2,000 campaign contribution. They had a great time laughing and chitchatting. Hillary seemed so gracious, so warm, so first lady like, and so genuinely grateful. In other words, she was faking it. Paul and his family would find out soon enough.

A few days after the concert, the WASHINGTON POST approached the Clintons for an August 15, 2000 story. They had done some research and discovered that Paul had a colorful past that included a few convictions. Team Hillary spent a few days planning strategy. They responded with their signature strategy of pretending that they really didn't know him and they don't have anything to do with him. They just wanted all of this to go away so they could get back to the job of running the country. Being a good law-abiding citizen and someone of unquestionable ethical standards, Hillary had her mouthpiece, Howard Wolfson, make it very public that she wouldn't take any money from someone like Peter Paul. After all, he had a cocaine conviction and he ripped off Fidel Castro (a future episode). Well, I guess they wouldn't associate with Tim Allen, Robert Evans, Dan Lasiter, or brother Roger either.

The POST ran another story two days later when the reporter discovered that Hillary did take money from Paul. She announced that the $2,000 she received at the Spago luncheon was being returned. Wolfson had realized that he "misspoke" when he said she hadn't received any money from Paul. Unfortunately, the POST did not report that the luncheon was paid for by Paul. It has not ever been reported. Hillary expected that this little problem would just conveniently go away. That always seems to happen to the Clintons.

The day after the second POST story ran, Paul was the beneficiary of two mementos that he is certain to treasure forever. Maybe some day they'll be in the Clinton Lie-brary so future generations may enjoy them. On her stationery, Hillary thanked Paul and said that it would be remembered always (or at least until she was under oath and couldn't recall, whichever came first). Bill sent a handwritten note, which thanked him for the boost it gave Hillary’s campaign.

Rick Lazio was all prepared to use this scandal to his advantage in New York, but he was stopped in his tracks. That is for another episode.

You might think today’s story would end here. Nope, you know the Clintons. It gets even better. You would think that neither Bill nor Hillary would want to ever again have any association with Peter Paul. That assessment would not be entirely accurate.

Eleven days later, David Rosen sent a FACSIMILE TRANSMISSION to Paul asking for another hundred thousand dollars! Stop laughing.; No, I am not making this up. He really did. In order to get that money, Bill Clinton had to convince Paul in person that they still had a deal regarding goodwill ambassador-ing after the left the White House with the silverware and other stolen items. They had to meet in person. What better place than . . . . . . . . . . Air Force One?

On September 22, the meeting took place. The President was there, the Secret Service was there, Aaron Tonken was there, and Paul arrived with Gray Davis, the man who had no idea that the California voters were just a few years away from throwing his posterior out of office.

You know Bill. He somehow convinced Paul that, despite the public rebuke and return of his $2,000, of course they still had a deal. Bill wouldn’t lie to him. This time, the amount, or in better terms, the shakedown, was $55,000. Sorry, folks, but the money laundering surrounding that one will be the subject of, you guessed it, another episode. Anticipation will make the story that much sweeter.

Most of us remember Hillary’s great expertise in the cattle futures business. She must have studied for years to be able to turn $1,000 into $100,000. She did it in less than a year of trading, but let’s say it was a year so we don’t have to adjust for time. It’s been awhile, but if I did the math correctly, Hillary made 10,000 percent profit on that investment. And that was in her spare time. She still had plenty of time for throwing projectiles at her philandering husband.

Fortuitously, the Hillary financial genius suddenly came back to her in 2000. She gave Paul back is $2,000, so she essentially invested that money. She made almost $2,000,000 in an in-kind contribution from Paul. The cattle futures scam was chump change. Hillary made 100,000 percent on this deal. I’m convinced. Hillary should be running our economy.

Hillary, if you or any of you cronies are reading this, Andrea wanted me to pass along a message to you. You gave Peter’s $2,000 back. How about her $2,000? Please, make it a money order or cashier’s check.

I know, but he didn't care. I suppose he's still trying to define what meaning of “is” is.

It's safer sleeping during the day. Once the Sun comes out, she has to back inside.

Now that the judge in the Rosen case is considering dismissing at least one charge, I wonder how far he'll go to get Mad'dame Hillary off the hook.
