Flanked by about a dozen dedicated Iranian-Americans, Jerry Corsi covered about 13 miles on the second leg of the Iran Freedom Walk. This is the core group that plans to participate for the duration.
Dr. Corsi reports that the group has settled into a comfortable walking pace, and that they have met with a cordial reception in these small Pennsylvania towns. He says that the local police have been very helpful and encouraging, particularly in Devon and Paoli.
Over the next few days we will begin to profile some of the walkers who are accompanying Dr. Corsi. The group includes Mehrdad Majedi, a medical doctor who was imprisoned and tortured in Iran, as well as an 86-year-old man whose three sons were all killed by the mullahs' regime.
Dr. Corsi was interviewed on several radio shows yesterday. International coverage of the Walk on the Voice of America, Radio Free Europe and Radio Farda continues.
Dr. Mehrdad Majedi had the courage to express his political opinions in the Islamic Republic of Iran. For this, he was arrested in September of 2000, and held in solitary confinement for 35 days without a trial. The judiciary eventually charged Dr. Majedi with the following "crimes": 1) creating the group Students for Defense of Freedom, 2) giving interviews to foreign media outlets, and 3) "insulting the Supreme Leader." He was sentenced to 5 years in prison, a $2,500 fine, and 50 lashes with a whip. Under pressure from the European Human Rights Federation, the prison sentence was temporarily suspended, but the other penalities were enforced.
On December 26, 2001, Dr. Majedi was attacked by three members of Iran's security forces, suffering severe injuries that required surgery and extensive rehabilitation. Threatened with further prosecution, he fled the country on September 7, 2002.
Shortly after Dr. Majedi escaped from Iran, his wife Leyla was also viciously beaten by security forces in Tehran.
Dr. Majedi joins the Iran Freedom Walk for the same reason he opposed tyranny in his native land -- to advance the cause of freedom.

Road warriors ping.
These are people who oppose terrorism and support freedom.
The story about Dr. Majedi should give each of us pause, and remind us how fortunate we are to live in this great nation.
Well said.
It's worth remembering that it could happen here. All it takes is having people in power who, like the mullahs, define dissent as "hate speech."
These are people who oppose terrorism and support freedom.
Then that is a very good thing!
Forgive me?
Thanks for the link.. ;-)
By the way, you need to spend more quality time with your cat...
Hey, thanks for helping Corsi's Raiders navigate the wilds of rural Pennsylvania.
PING
Thanks for updates.
